Publisher's summary

Straight guys don’t have crushes on other dudes, right?

Except my roommate, Whit, is intriguing, and I find myself watching him constantly. He’s a mystery I can’t figure out and these feelings I’m having about him are confusing.

Then, one night, I find myself wrapped around him, and after that, I can't get enough.

But Whit has secrets. He doesn’t let people in, and the more I fall for him, the less I know.

I can't let him go, though. Until I realize I’m going to be the one broken at the end of our story.

Enjoyed

Nice sweet story. Love narrator! Happy about ending. Wish the second book was a sequel.

Great Story

"It's you, Whit. Don't know why you can't get that through your super-smart brain. I'm obsessed with you."

These two were a delight to read/listen to. I love a straight man who eagerly embraces his interest in a man. Seriously, Caleb is a really hilarious and pretty adorable golden retriever. A Whit is a mysterious and quiet man who has his secrets and does his best to keep his distance from Caleb. But really, I don’t think anyone could resist Caleb.

There are serious undertones to the story and some heartbreak, but it’s beautiful too. The way Caleb wins over Whit’s trust, the patience he shows him, and the care he takes to give him everything he’s been missing is wonderful.

Also, Caleb’s family is completely amazing, the way they take to Whit is something special, even if the brothers are a little wild with no sense of boundaries.

"This is my life now. I should have never talked to you at that coffee shop. Now I'm surrounded by big dudes who are slightly sociopathic."

Truly a wonderfully written story and a pretty stellar job by narrators Liam DiCosimo and Alexander Cendese. I was just as taken by the story as I was by their performance.

Yes!!

This story is everything!! Caleb is so sweet and caring and Whit is closed off, but Caleb takes him under his wing and just loves him so much! Definitely recommend!

Such a great book!

This book was such a great book but made even more fun in audiobook format! A funny, bi awakening with heart. 100% worth a credit!

Lovvvved the book, just not the audio

Really loved this story unfortunately the voice performance made me want to claw my ears out had a hard time finishing it not cause the story wasn’t great just cause the voice of Caleb was quite possible the worst thing I’ve heard.

Best performance by Alexander Cendese

I adore this book and have reread it often since it came out. Now that it’s in audio form I’m just listening to it over and over. I have several books that Alexander Cendese has narrators and this has to be his absolute best! He captured the character so well and I love how he does the other characters voices too. I can really hear the difference. Very, very well done! I can’t wait for the rest of the series to be in audio now!

OMG Caleb and Whit story was amazing 👏

This story was so good. But I have just one issue, I wish the author would have given us a little bit more info on Whit. I think the book should have been called Caleb.

if chapter 16 don't make you cry you are made of rocks. I cried so much until I had to pause the book for a bit. They should be a warning ⚠️ about the suicidal tendency. That really really recked me.

Whit Narration was amazing I wish he had more parts. Caleb's one, at time was kinda annoying, but overall it was okay.

Unexpected sweet ride - laugh out loud and cried legit tears

I was not expecting the emotional ride this story took. It started out silly with two polar opposite college roommates with something drawing them together. One jumps in and one resists. Pretty straightforward….but no. The emotional struggle these two had to find their HEA resulted in my needing to find the tissues. And that doesn’t happen often. I loved this story.

This was my first story by this author but I will definitely be starting book two of the series next.

Narrators were great.

Sublime

Delightful character development. Heaps of humor. Captures the challenges of young gay men dealing with the moral depravity American culture. Superior sex scenes. Happy ending.

⚠️trigger warnings⚠️

TW: Past and present suicidal ideation, self-harm and scarification, child abuse due to sexual orientation, and death of a parent.

The story and steam are fantastic, and narrators are great as usual, but the trigger warnings for this medium are missing. The synopsis doesn't hint at any of these, and the content is rather intense surrounding those topics. I get that the darkness and mystery of the character are necessary (and create a compelling story), but it was careless not to have it mentioned explicitly so that listeners can make a truly informed decision.

If it's safe for you, it is worth a read. 5⭐️
