Publisher's summary

Charles Preston Carmichael is the most infuriating man I've ever met.

I want to sock the golden boy of college hockey right in the mouth. He enjoys telling me everything I'm messing up—publicly. And since he's my roommate for the next year, I can't avoid him.

Yet there's something about him that makes me watch him. Something dark. A secret I want to uncover.

When he returns from a weekend away, broken and haunted, I can't keep my distance anymore. He needs someone, and I'll be damned if it's not me.

Soon my life no longer revolves around hockey but the nightmares he's living with. Desperately, I want to save him, but I can't. Only he can save himself.

Can I watch him destroy himself as he tries to hold tight to the things that matter, or will I be the final hit in the destruction of his life?

Hidden Scars is an MM enemies-to-lovers hockey romance with a jealous f*ck buddy and plenty of heat.

This one’s a goodie

Gosh, complex, heartbreaking, heartwarming. All the things! Excellent narration. Had me from the first line of the story. Consumed my time I could not stop listening.

Obviously the brilliant narration duo made it a pleasure to listen to.

Highly recommend.

super sexy and super sweet

I've been into a lot of MM hockey for some reason. I don't even like hockey. But this is a good one and I'm glad I picked up a "new to me" author.

Honestly I bought it for the cover. 🔥🥵

I didn't really read the blurb, just saw Teddy Hamilton was narrating and I love him. The narrator for Jeremy was new to me, but he was the lighter, happier member of this couple and his voice fit pretty well

Preston went through it in this book. Pretty heavy stuff, so if you have triggers, check that out before you read.

Overall, I was pleased with this one. I hope there is a book for Brendan and Paul too.

Two beautiful souls

This book was beautiful. It made me cry and laugh out loud. It was a roller coaster of emotions. 2 of my favorite narrators helped with my purchase. Worth the credit for sure.

spice and emotions and biting

The story was fast-paced, highly emotional and felt well-written. The narrators also did a great job!

hockey players

I thought it was a beautiful story ho one hid his secret and the other pulled it out from him with simple love for him, and his family doing the same.. beautiful love story.

Great connection between the characters

Great story but the abuse of the main character by his parent is gut wrenching and frequently stomach churning, almost to the point where I almost turned off the story. It definitely makes the storyline grab you and feel more strongly for the characters.

amazing story & performance

Loved everything about this story and the performance! My heart broke over Preston's situation, yet soared as I listened to him and Jeremy find each other and find their way.

Good book BUT - spoilers in review!

This book is really hard to rate. The audio book performances sold it, but I’m disappointed by how the conflict was handled and the end of the book fell flat. The pacing and suspense of the beginning 2/3 of the book were excellent. The abuse that Preston is experiencing isn’t run-of-the-mill alcoholic, beating abuse, it is pure, psychological, and physical torture. The scenes were so well written, and the every day hidden monster horror of it was fantastic. I really wish that he wasn’t exposed by a social media post but that after the hospital scene, Jeremy went to the team doctor and the coach and they helped him. The wrapup of the father storyline was so fast it was definitely lacking. I think the father killing himself was OK plot wise but there should’ve been more content between the discovery and that. When you’re already over 400 pages let’s just make it 500 and give us the story we need.
