New beautiful love story

two very different characters and f8nally after being very persistent Grayson get to have the broody Rett to speak with him. a touching romance but steamy relationship but many complications.
loved it !

Loved this audiobook!

First off, I'm horrible about getting my thoughts across in reviews. That being said, I loved this audiobook! The story is great, the character development is fantastic, and the love is so real. If you love MM romance with slightly broken characters, please give this book a chance!!!
As for the narrators, they are new, and I think they did a great job bringing these characters to life.

Everything

When a book starts in high school and the characters have so many broken pieces you can usually expect surface level plots and emotions. This is not that story. From the writing to the narration the book has everything. This book has everything you’re looking for if you love love

Great story! Def worth the listen!

I’m so glad I gave this audio a try. This is my first book by this author and I loved it. Perfect length I was kept intrigued and enjoyed the entire story! Sweet story of one 2 unlikely teens getting together and finding love!

MM Romance

Hostile by Nicole Dykes is a MM romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Devon Ryder and Bryant Walker.

This is the second book of Nicole's that I have read, and it won't be my last. She does an amazing job pulling me into the story and making me feel what the characters are feeling. I loved the relationship that bloomed between Rhett and Grayson. I really enjoyed getting both of their points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

Devon and Bryant did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would highly recommend this book if you like MM romances.

Hostile ( May have spoilers)

Oh, My God!!!! I just have to Holy moly was this book hot 🔥 🥵, man I've never been so turned on about guys getting on. lol 😁 Anyway I just have to say this was a well-written story I was so into it that I could not stop listening, it had a bit of everything, but the thing I loved the most was how Grayson's friend was so supportive of him and I also like how his dad didn't care if he was gay. There was a part where it did break my little heart but I'm so glad everything worked out in the end. One of the best love stories I've had the pleasure of listening to. let's not forget how amazing the narrator's did, good guys.

Rhett comes from the system, a child who was abandoned by his parents, a child who was exposed to the cruelty and the ugly side of foster care until his current adoptive family adopt him, which made him grow up mentally very quickly, make him not to trust everyone and refuse any help because he is able to do things on his own and does not want help or "shortcuts".
Grayson comes from a wealthy family, he lacks nothing, he is an amazing player on the high school team where he studies and he maintains his golden boy image to make his grandfather proud and also to inherit the business he built and manage it in the future.
But Grayson is also hiding a secret, he has quite a crush on our grumpy boy and he decides that he is no longer watching from the sidelines and takes the first step in the quest to win his heart.

Why do I recommend?- Because Grumpy x Sunshine is my favorite trope, because it's a relatively light book (even when there were things that weren't light), because the best friends of one of the heroes are just sweet and added to the book, because I fell in love with the heroes, they were really too sweet.
What I didn't like in the book?- I don't like the Miscommunication trope, I'm not a fan of the Gay For You trope, the gaps were a bit clichéd but I realized they were also necessary, it was a bit patterned for me but not terrible.

Bottom line, it's a cute book, yes there were things that bothered me but the pluses outweighed the minuses, I missed mm books so much and overall as a first book by the author I'm trying I actually enjoyed it.
I would love to read more of her books in the future.

I've been wanting to experience this story again ever since i finished it earlier this year. I was so ecstatic when i learned of this audiobook! I immediately started looking forward to it! I began listening to it as soon as i could and was pulled in by the narration and story so quickly. I loved this listen!

I've listened to Bryant Walker once before, but was new to Devon Ryder and it had me even more excited to jump into this listen! When i tell you Devon and Bryant had me hooked with their narration, i so mean it. They both captured the fight of wanting to be yourself and every single bit of feels as Grayson and Rhett. Bryant and Walker had me so glued to my earbuds. These two did such a fantastic job of bringing Hostile to life in this new way! I can't wait to listen to more of their narration in the future!

Grayson and Rhett's journey grabbed a hold of my attention and heart once again! Life can be so tough, something Grayson and Rhett know all too well.

The depth to these characters got to me. The layers to Grayson and Rhett to unpack made it all the more thoroughly enjoyable for me. Embracing who you are isn't always easy and the realness shown throughout this listen was something that was very relatable. The moments between these characters brought all kinds of feels! Their chemistry was so great! 😍 I fell even harder for this story, Grayson, and Rhett through this listen.

I really enjoyed what all the other characters brought to this story as well!

Their story showed how people can come into our lives and remind us why we are worthy, especially of love.

With Hostile, Ms.Dykes has created such a wonderful read that got me right in heart! She tackles things in her books that are so real for many and that's just one of the many beautiful things about her writing. I adore the uniqueness she brings each time as well! I most definitely need to listen to more of her audiobooks soon.

Grayson the rich jock, cheerful, everyone likes him. He hiding a secret, a secret that his parents would disown him. He has to play the part or he could lose everything.
Rhett, the young man who went thru foster care and eventually was adopted by a family . He is still bitter, grumpy, hard for him to show his feelings.
I love the dynamics between Grayson and Rhett. They are truly opposites. they finAlly connected emotionally , they were there for, to support, love and encourage each other during their self doubts.
my husband being a foster child, I know the struggles he went thru before he was put in a permanent home at 12. Nicole Dykes shows the good side and also the fears and mistreatment that some children go thru.
Bryant Walker and Devon Ryder narration is phenomenal. They captured all the emotions as Grayson and Rhetts relationship developed.throughout this story.
