Publisher's summary

#1 New York Times bestselling author Tessa Bailey is back in Napa Valley with this hilarious rom-com about a down-on-her-luck heiress who suggests a mutually beneficial marriage of convenience to a man she can’t stand... only to discover there’s a fine line between love and hate.

After losing her job and her fiancé in one fell swoop, Natalie Vos returned home to lick her wounds. A few months later, she’s sufficiently drowned her sorrows in cabernet and she’s ready to get back on her feet. She just needs her trust fund to finance her new business venture. Unfortunately, the terms require she marry before she can have the money. And well, dumped, remember?

But Natalie is desperate enough to propose to a man who makes her want to kill him—and kiss him, in equal measure.

August Cates may own a vineyard, but he doesn’t know jack about making wine. He’s determined to do his late best friend proud, no matter what it takes. Except his tasting room is empty, his wine is disgusting (seriously, he once saw someone gag), and his buddy’s legacy is circling the drain. No bank will give him the loan he needs to turn the business around... and then the gorgeous, feisty heiress knocks on his door.

Natalie has haunted August's dreams since the moment they met, but their sizzling chemistry immediately morphed into simmering insults. Now, a quickie marriage could help them both. A sham wedding, a few weeks living under the same roof, and then they can go their separate ways—assuming they make it out alive. How hard could it be?

There’s just one thing they didn’t account for: their unfortunate, unbearable, undeniable attraction.

SPICY ROMCOM

Oh wow, I really enjoyed this!! Tessa always does banter and steam SO well! I def enjoyed this one better than Secretly Yours!

* marriage of convenience
* forced proximity
* small town
* great banter and steam
* a cinnamon roll and domineering hero - YES PLEASE

I gotta say.. August stole the show for me! He is such a GEM!! He is an ex-marine trying to make his vineyard a success and Natalie is trying to find her place after her life falls apart in NYC. I think these two complimented each other well and it was clear from the beginning they had great chemistry and a connection.

Overall, if you're looking for a spicy romcom - def pick this up!

Rating: 4 stars!

Way better than Secretly Yours

I really did not like the first book in this series, so I was hesitant to read this one, but I was pleased to find out that Unfortunately Yours is actually a pretty descent read. I got into the characters and I was rooting for them. Of course the dirty talk did not disappoint and their love was believable. 3.5 stars across the board.

My First Tessa Novel

August and Natalie, what a beautiful pairing. They were funny, feisty, romantic and good people. I loved their story. Thank you!

Classic Tessa

All of the tropes but done is such a way that I still giggled out loud at some parts. Great story and Callie Dalton did a great job of also emulating the MMC (I prefer dual narration but alas). Just a nice feel-good steamy rom-com.

5 stars! ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I LOVED this so much! The MMC August is a Big Strong ex Navy Seal who’s Sexy as hell, hilarious, sweet and gives golden retriever vibes. FMC Natalie is a beautiful smart mouthed woman who gives August a run for his money. This book was HOT 🔥🔥🔥🥵 🔥 HILARIOUS SWEET & the narrator was amazing! August is my new book boyfriend! This man tries to build this woman up every chance he gets and just wants to make her happy in more ways than one 🔥🔥 He’s a giver for sure!!! Swoon worthy!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Fake Relationship Trope

Out of the two, this one is my favorite. The pacing, that felt off in the first one, is more like classic Tess Bailey. Enjoyed the story of these two, I don’t normally read a lot of the fake relationship trope, but I’m very happy to have read this one. The characters still stay true to themselves, and the epilogue gave me what I always hope for in one.

I only screamed of the book one time

definitely one of the better romance novels that I have read! Both of the main characters are lovable and flawed just like real life. Highly recommend this book for all of your steamy romance needs!

Every Tessa Bailey book is the same

Every Tessa Bailey book is the same. Girl and boy meet, there’s something that gets them together, there a problem that breaks them up and then they solve it and live happily ever after; it’s lazy writing. I thought this one was way better than Secretly Yours just because it was a little bit spicier. Overall a mediocre book.
