Publisher's summary

The youngest lawyer ever to grab the helm of Seattle's most prominent law firm, Gus Wheatley has found success - as well as money, power, and prestige. He thinks nothing can interfere with his meteoric rise to the top. Until his wife, Beth, vanishes.

Beth's disappearance coincides with a series of brutal murders the FBI dubs the "bookend killings". They think Beth is the killer's latest victim...or his willing accomplice. But Gus knows his wife would never ally herself with a cold-blooded killer. The further he searches, however, the more he discovers that Beth isn't the woman he thought he knew.

Beth may be alive. She may or may not be innocent. She may have come up against evil far more reaching than a serial killer. And for Gus and his family, that evil is much too close to home.

enjoyed it alot, will not regret, page turner

good twists but i always find grippandos murderers motives up in the air. Much seems forced. But loved the way he reconciles broken relationships !

Excellent book and narrator

Would you listen to Under Cover of Darkness again? Why?

I would because there were so many back flashes and I may have missed something and because the story was great.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Under Cover of Darkness?

When I found out his sister had been involved.

Which scene was your favorite?

When Gus was holding Morgan and realizing how much he had not been a part of his own life.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Just through out the story listening and knowing Gus had gotten it; he may of been there but there is a lot of difference in being there and being a part of your own life and family.

Any additional comments?

I think Richard Poe is one of the greatest narrators; I have tried to listen to those books with three voices and I just can't but he can do it all and it makes the book more memorable. His voice is just amazing and I really love listening to him, he has a way to put you right there.
