Publisher's summary

No pantheon is safe from the wrath of a Horsewoman scorned.

War is coming to the City of Fountains.

The four legendary creatures are free, the seven sins are running wild, the vampires are getting thirsty, and the Vatican is ready to enter the front lines.

And Callie Penrose is at the heart of it all. The Horsewoman of Despair flicked the first domino, and the consequences are echoing throughout the various halls of power in all corners of the world. As the streets of Kansas City threaten to become raging rivers of blood, one of those closest to Callie is kidnapped, and she is forced to choose between her heart and the people who depend on her to keep them safe.

To value duty over love.

As the pillars of heaven begin to crumble, it becomes increasingly obvious that all these events are coordinated rather than coincidental. Callie may have flicked that first domino, but how much can her heart handle when she learns that some of her closest friends set all the dominos up in the first place.

Now is the time when success truly depends on how lucky Callie can be, and whether she can determine which friends have been paid 30 pieces of silver to stab her in the back. Angels shall weep, and demons shall laugh.

Humanity will burn and gods shall die in the wake of a Horsewoman betrayed.

Excellent as always

Callie never disappoints and neither does Shayne Silvers. This book is the reading equivalent of being a ball in an pinball machine. Your getting thrown all over the place blindly bouncing off these wonderful revelations and surprises! Don't start it off you need to go to bed soon!

Laughs, Drama, and Tons of Action

I can’t get over how often I laugh in these books and get anxiety over the level of suspense and action.

Such a great series.

Excellent addition to the series!

When a series is as large as the Templeverse it becomes increasingly difficult to keep everything together. This story does an excellent job of providing different perspectives of other events happening within the overall series, cleans up the clutter, and still stands as it own unique installment. The narrator assists this with a very solid performance. Well done!

Story was good but performance was lacking

I thought the story was good. However, I would have been able to follow along better had I listened to the Nate Temple book that preface this one.

I was a bit flustered with the constant mispronounced God/esses names throughout the book.

Makes no sense

I dislike the Nate character and his story. Either combine the 2 series or separate them. The second half of the book made no sense at all. I feel the author dropped the ball on this one, especially the ending. The books that include Nate were just irritating.
