Publisher's summary

The first three adventures in the million-selling Feathers and Fire series: Unchained, Rage, and Whispers.

"Kevin Hearne, Jim Butcher, K.F. Breene, and now Shayne Silvers has been added to my favorite Urban Fantasy Authors list." (Michael Anderle, Amazon Top 25 best-selling author)

Who is Callie Penrose?

They say she’s been kissed by Heaven - whatever the Hell that means. Because Callie was orphaned on the steps of a church in Kansas City, and doesn’t know her parents. She starts out as a rookie wizard who hunts monsters for the Vatican. Except…ironically, she’s never been a churchy kind of girl, and she quickly learns that monsters can reside anywhere.

Even among the most devout.

Get ready for Callie to take you on a gripping adventure into a new kind of Sunday School. Be on your best behavior, because she won’t crack a ruler over your knuckles to teach you a lesson - more like whips of fire and brimstone to your face.

Hell hath no fury like Callie Penrose. And that’s before she discovers her strange childhood ties to a jerk named Nate Temple in St. Louis....

If you like Jim Butcher, Sarah J. Maas, Kevin Hearne, Steve McHugh, Michael Anderle, Ilona Andrews, Patricia Briggs, Shannon Mayer, or K.F. Breene, you won't be able to put down the highly addictive Feathers and Fire series.

The Best!

Either you love Shayne Silvers or well, you. do not. I do but want to add that Nicole Poole's performance was top notch. She made the story come alive with insightful voices for all characters. Especially liked the voice for Cally.

Great story.

This series has it all. angels vs demons, vampires, werewolves, witches, and more. very enjoyable. The voice actress keeps you pulled in with various inflections.

Fun series.

I definitely enjoyed the books but the third book wrapped up in a hurried way.
The story did neatly conclude but some of the characters just turned up at the end and the main character was suddenly a lot less powerful and had to fight harder than she should have needed to for no reason.

Books 1-3

Callie Penrose orphaned on the steps of a church in Kansas City, taken in by her mentor and the Vatican to hunt monsters.
Callie wouldn't consider herself religious, but more a healthy skeptic - and as she gets older, she learns more about herself and who abandon her on the steps of the church as a baby and how she is tied to Nate Temple in St. Louis....

The characters are very inconsistent.

I was really enjoying the series, until this book. The main characters willingness to all of a sudden sacrifice her father figures life and beliefs. For a so called greater good. When in the other books she was willing to destroy everything for a friend. Such a selfish and shallow personality. Truly disappointed with the direction.

Maybe start with Nate

I was new to this author so I was unfamiliar with his writing style. I went all in getting the series 1-3 and 4-6. I enjoy going in order and soaking it all in.
Just a little something about this series, it apparently intertwines with his other books... who knew.
Yes, they could be stand alone novels if you accept all of the private jokes you aren’t in on. All of the friendships made without you and the fun / crazy times where you were left at home for even though you were here for every book in Callie’s story. This irked me. But I like order and completeness hence getting all 6 books at once. She apparently had tons of side stuff happened that I wasn’t privileged to. That being said it is a cool storyline. I love the narrator Nicole Poole one of the reasons I went all in. I feel incomplete after finishing book 6 because I still don’t have all of the information. I’d like to start at the beginning of this author’s work and listen to everything in order to gain perspective. Callie goes from never doing certain things to hey something happened to change her but nope not in this book kind of personality changes. Don’t get me started on Roland... but it is a good series. It’s just seemly part of a much bigger storyline. One I hope to enjoy in order

Great story

Wish I’d known about it while I was going through the Nate Temple series. It would’ve filled in a lot of weird holes. But better late than never. If you haven’t heard Nate temple maybe get that box set as well and go back and forth

reader/story do not match

The person reading this story sounds like a synthesis computer reader. not sure if it is the reader or the story and readers voice are not good together. the only thing annoying about the story is it has many spots where it says things like I should not but then again i will. or It should not be this way but is.
