Don’t be so quick to judge

The only reason I give the story a 3 star rating is because I didn’t enjoy it as much as the first book. Aside from that the story is still really good. Things escalate and set up for an exciting sequel that is sure to keep bringing more questions with very few answers. 8/10 good read.

Fantastic Read

First the narrator: Fantastic job drawing you in. The difference in the characters isn’t just a voice change, they all feel different too. Perkins is quickly becoming my favorite narrator so far.

The book: I had a difficult time getting into the first book, but this one I was immediately into it. The writing has improved exponentially and this has gone on to become a beloved and one of my favorite book series. I am excited to continue on.

Not sure where we are going yet

Gewey Steading is still a mortal god bonded to an elf after only knowing her a couple weeks. The dark one is still building power, not sure why. He seems to be able to stop Gewey whenever he wants now. still, the book is fun with a great performance.

at least... not yet

This book is wonderful, I haven't stopped listening since the first book and all I can say is that I'm invested. I love the plot, the characters, everything, and Derek's voice is SPECTACULAR.
I also love that Brian uses the same phrase so often "at least, not yet"

Excellent

Purely entertaining storytelling. Sans the gratuitous violence, prurient sex scenes, and needless degradation of the elevated gift of language.

Child of Heaven

If you haven’t listened / read book 1, the Sword of Truth, then go no further.

If you have, then Of God and Elves continues the epic story of Gewey and Kaylia. The world of the elves is expanded on. In the background, Angraal continues to “take over”, setting up another crazy cliffhanger. DRmz 1-31-23

Innocent. Inspiring when you let yourself believe.

Highly symbolic, pedagogical, an instruction manual for young men acquiring healthy values. Growing boys need to believe they have an important destiny, and that kind, strong adults will guide them wisely. Heavy on fatherhood themes, friendship & loyalty.
