Publisher's summary

Don't threaten the children when the wolves are near.

Isolated and left on their own at a wild animal safari park at the beginning of a zombie uprising, the boys and girls from the school field trip must learn how to survive on their own. They are safe behind the tall fences and strong walls, but what about all the wild animals inside the gates with them?

The animals aren't so wild after all. Bottle fed and cared for their entire lives, they are almost as helpless as the children. The bears like their tummies rubbed. The panther wants her ears scratched. The wolves have never had to hunt for their food.

Together, they learn to trust each other, to hunt, to survive, and to fight.

This epic tale of love, bonding, and violence tells the story of the children and their animals as they battle against the undead, the harsh northern winter, and a band of merciless killers who want them dead.

Join them in their journey to find a place of safety in this complete three book trilogy.

one of the top three zombie books ever

I have listened to the entire zombie road series and loved every minute of it. when they ran into the feral children in zombie road I just knew there was more to be told there. so when I seen this book in audible I got excited it did not disappoint. this tale of heroism strength kindness and zombie survival is unforgettable. I am on my way to listen to the next book about the retrievers deadline after hearing the beginning at the end of feral children I just know it's going to be a masterpiece. I would love it if there was one more story for the children of them growing up in Texas on a zoo being stalked by lions and tigers. ending with new children as the feral children turn into Feral adults. this is a magnificent series of books if you haven't got it yet do it you will not regret it.

Absolutely awesome

This is the first review I have actually written. I was turned on to the genre by Mark Tufo’s Zombie Fallout which led me to read literally every single book he wrote. Then I was lost. Where to go after catching up to my favorite author. This series, the children bonding in very realistic ways with they animal counterparts, and not an overly huge amount of zombie fighting. Just enough to satisfy your zombie craving. But the characters are so well developed, their animals who don’t even speak have personality, I could go on and on. I very much recommend The Feral Children. As reviews go, I know this one wasn’t very good, but I’ve listened to hundreds of books, and this is the first time I’ve written something. It’s that good

refreshing spin on zombie stories. quite enjoyable

the resourceful children, the zoo animals, the hated villian... and of course, zombies...it all comes together for a unique storyline... thoroughly enjoyable...definitely worth 25 hours of listening...wish there were more to binge.

Different

Ridiculous childish story plot. I was thinking I had wasted another credit but from 10 or 15 minutes on it did what a good book should do. It kept wanting to hear what happened next. Non stop action. The childish part went away as their hardships grew, even having some of the children die violently. There is the silly parts where children ride ostrich, bears, and a giraffe into battle but there is also murder, sexual assault, and slavery. A good read, or I guess I should say a good listen. A solid 4.5
