"Sweet as ice cream on a hot summer day."
Booklist on The Somerset Girls

She was fine arranging other people’s weddings… But life had other plans.

When it comes to creating the perfect happily-ever-after, Yardley Belanger is a bona fide miracle worker. From bridal bouquets to matching cowboy boots, the quirky wedding planner’s country-chic affairs have caused quite a stir in the small town of Cemetery. But when it comes to her own love life? She’s clueless.

Completely clueless.

Perhaps it’s for the best. The thirty-one-year-old has poured her heart and soul into her business and doesn’t have time for anything—or anyone—else. And that’s something not even the gorgeous older brother of her newest client can change…right?

All Travis Long wanted was to give his little sister, Sheena, the wedding of her dreams. Ever since the tragic death of their parents, he’s done everything he can to make her feel loved and give her everything she needs. Still…a country wedding? In a place called Cemetery? But Yardley seems to know exactly what to do and how to do it—and Travis finds himself falling for her a little more each day.

Soon Yardley and Travis find themselves being nudged together by well-meaning locals who want to see the town’s favorite wedding planner get her own happy ending.

Don't miss The Little Flower Shop, an all new heartwarming summer read from New York Times bestselling author Lori Foster about a 40-something florist who, with the help of her meddling small town, gets a second chance at life and love.

Great story!

Great story. I would love to see it continue. I couldn't watch to get back to it each time I had to pause.

Storyline

I thought parts of the book ie: characters, were sort of rushed through. I think it should have went into more detail especially towards the last 2 chapters regarding the wedding & Betty & the character w/the other dog that dodger meets up with

Not my favorite

Okay, the mom and aunt were mean and insulting to Yardley for most of the book. I love Mimi. She was a great best friend and her post baby concerns were realistic. Yardley, on the other hand was acting like a teenager with her first boyfriend instead of a 31 year old. Whining about holding off on sex because Travis wanted to wait until after his sister's wedding, which she was helping to plan? Travis was great and his sister was cute. The side stories with Mimi and Travis' sister flowed easily.

The narration was great. I remember her from a different LF book and she did a great job.

Didn’t enjoy any of it.

So I am clearly in the minority, but I didn’t love this book. The narration was irksome, many of the people weren’t terribly likable and treated Yardley terribly until very late in the story. Her mother and aunt were despicable and she was so used to being treated so poorly she just thought it was how it was supposed to be. Also, given that Yardley is an actual grown human being why was it such a big deal for her to hide her life from them and act like a child. They were truly horrible human beings. Only in the part of the book did anyone treat her with any kindness and respect. Yes, there is a fun well deserved HEA, but for me, it wasn’t a great listen getting there. Was almost relieved it was over. I do wonder why a female author would write such pathetic female characters. I am done with this author.
