Publisher's summary

Emotional Intelligence (EQ) is one of the biggest predictors of personal and professional success, and the key to effectively developing your EQ is tying it to your own personality type. In this book, certified EQ coach and Enneagram teacher Scott Allender helps you chart a personality-specific path toward lasting emotional intelligence and health. Allender uses the popular Enneagram framework to illuminate how each of the nine personality types aligns with the five essential skills of emotional intelligence: self-perception, self-expression, interpersonal relationships, decision making, and stress management. You'll discover how to

- break free from the hidden fears that dictate your choices

- make more intentional decisions

- better understand the emotional dynamics of colleagues, friends, and family

- and more

In this journey toward radical self-awareness, you'll learn how to combat the self-limiting beliefs that keep you from living the life you were meant to live all along.

Not only did I learn my type, but also how to transform according to that type.

Amazing book. I’m now hooked on learning everything I can about this tool and myself. I’m so very pumped. I feel like I have just been released from “The Matrix.”

Excellent read for enneagram students

I’ve ready several books by the author before this one , and many books on the enneagram. Scott Allenders teaching style on the enneagram stands out from the crowd. Very applicable and clear teaching. This book will be a blessing to yourself and those who work and live with you as well.

So detailed and helpful

I don’t know what I expected when I started this book, but whatever it was Scott’s book far exceeded what I thought the content would be. From the detailed description of how the enneagram fundamentally works, to the super helpful explanations of how each type responds & why to different situational problems, I could not have asked for a better guide. The enneagram within work relationships, interpersonal relationships, in success, failure, stress, anger etc all were covered thoroughly. Additionally there were helpful next steps as to how to move forward and grow using the adjacent and linear numbers of your type. Highly recommended for people who care about work relationships and personal development!
