A bit disappointing...

Read Glory and the Master of Shadows before reading this one. I was underwhelmed. But based on reviews, I was prepared to be swept away. Not so much. Although better than Glory, I have read so much better. Just didn't care about the main characters.
Sex scenes were plentiful but really, if you don't care about the couple, what's the point.
I'll pass on anymore of Callaways books.

Ode to the Kents

This was a masterful addition to the series. I always knew Harry was going to be a freak (in a good way) and he didn't disapoint!!!! As for Tessa, she's one bad ass chick. I wish she could've gotten some real revenge on her bullies, but alas, it wasn't meant to be. Man, I also think this book should have happened before Polly's and Primrose's stories. It definitely could've added an additional edge to Primose's story especially considering Bartholomew Black played a role with Primrose being reunited with her family.

From Mayhem in Mayfair to the Heart of Enquiry to now, the Dukes...every damn extra credit I've purchased this month to see this through was worthwhile!

Im skipping Ransom and Adam Garrity's story though (for now). I need some time to get over how cowardly Ransom was in this book before I can see him as a hero in another. To think of Adam Garrity without a memory, goodness - I just can't cope with that drama (also because I'm still mad at Garrity for his behavior with Charity and Apollo in their story - he was a straight bastard, despite Charity getting his ass good). Now, to the last currently in the series - Wickham. Because Garrity was going to do Wickham dirty, too, had Gabby not stepped in during Vi's story and I have to know how Wick turned his life around.

I know they are supposed to be standalones but this series is addictive and yes, the language is rough and gritty at the sex scenes but, those scenes are undoubtedly hot and steeeeeaaaammmmmyyy (and the story lines are good, too). I'm glad I didn't pay attention to the prudes who complained about the language in those sex scenes, though - because had I done so, I would've missed out on an awesome ride!

Long live the Duchess!

Lots of twists and hot romance

This book was full of lots of twists and turns, some extremely erotic moments and of course a happy happy ending. This was the first book I have read by Grace Callaway and I really enjoyed it. The main characters are both fantastic. Tessa is not a simpering. Miss, she is strong and intelligent and feisty as hell. Herry a.k.a., Sam, a.k.a. Herry is sexy and sweet and intelligent, what more could you ask for in a leading male? A few other reviewers have mentioned how graphic The language is, but from what I’ve heard about this author that is to be expected. If you want very hot steamy scenes, this is definitely the book for you. The best part about all of that is you get the heat but you also have a twisting plot and a real love story. Not just the love of a men and a women, but the love of family as well.

OUTSTANDING AUDIBLE NARRATION

Marian Hussey outdid herself. She really bought this story to life!!

Even though the title of the story is misleading. I still gave it 5 stars. The story is Not about a Duke but a police constable who goes undercover in the underworld of St. Giles. He lies about his true Identity.

When asked to be the bodyguard for Tessa Todd Black by the King of the Underworld Tessa's grandfather Black Harry Kent knows this is his way into investigating the notorious Black. Instead, he fines his self falling in love with Tessa and admiring and respecting Black.

This is a well written story with great characters brought to live by and excellent narrator Marian Hussey!!

Too much like porn for my taste

I enjoy a steamy novel, but this was rank porn in my opinion. The crass, crude language took it over the top for me.
