Publisher's summary

One night with professional bull rider Trent Campbell had been everything that Kelly Sullivan had fantasized about. Unfortunately, it cost her everything. When she became pregnant, her father threw her out because she wouldn't tell him the baby's father was his rodeo hero - the hero who ghosted her when she tried to tell him about their daughter.

Trent Campbell never forgot the best night of his life. It was what kept him going when a 2,000-pound bull ended his career and almost his life. Throughout his long recovery, thinking of Kelly and wishing he still had his stolen phone so he could contact her, were what got him through the tough days. When Kelly returns to Last Stand, Texas, in a last-ditch effort to keep her family from selling the Three Sisters Ranch, she has a plan to make her father proud of her again by turning part of the land into a portrait studio location.

Her father, however, has already temporarily leased Trent some land for a rodeo school. Kelly and Trent still have the same explosive chemistry, but now the stakes are higher. If she lets Trent into her life, it won't only be her heart he breaks this time if he leaves, it will be their daughter's.

Contains mature themes.

father didn't spend enough time with his daughter. Title didn't match the action. The bull got a bad rap.

Trent and Kelly

*****SPOILER ALERT*****

The Cowboy's Daughter by Jamie K Schmidt, book 1 in the Three Sisters Ranch trilogy. Audible Premium Plus membership borrow. The other two books in the trilogy are not available in the APP membership borrow catalog. Dual POV. Slow burn, second chance, one-night stand to surprise pregnancy to pregnancy kept from H, second chance romance. Narrator Elizabeth Russell read well. Listed as 6 hours and 5 minutes; I listened at speed 2.50 for 2 hours 26 minutes. Content warnings: bull riding injuries; H never knew his father, his mom died when he was a teenager; H's manager "protected" him from buckle bunnies who claimed they were pregnant with his children; h father sent her away when he found out she was pregnant 5 years ago; h father has a second heart attack; paternity test reveals that Alissa is Trent's only child; H rode the bull that injured him 5 years ago and was injured again.

Kelly Sullivan (27) is the oldest of her parents' three daughters, a photographer, and the mother of Alissa, her five year old daughter. Kelly's father sent her and her sisters a message telling them that he couldn't afford to keep the ranch any longer, so all three returned home. Trent Campbell (31) was a professional rodeo bull rider when he was injured 5 years ago. After a lot of physical therapy, he's finally able to start his own bull riding school. He's leased land from Kelly's father for three years to start his school. When Kelly returns home, she realizes her father lied to her and her sisters. Kelly tells Trent Alissa is his daughter. Trent learns that his manager was "protecting" him by not telling him about the 10 women who claimed to be pregnant with his children. Things in the ranch get difficult when Kelly's dad finds out Trent is Alissa's father. Trent takes a $3 million offer to ride the bull that injured him 5 years ago. In the end, Trent is in the process of buying the Three Sisters Ranch from the Sullivan family, and while not engaged or married, Trent and Kelly are together.

Fun start to a series

I really enjoyed this easy going story with little drama…i did get a little frustrated with the h and her dad at times…but over all I did laugh at some and just enjoyed a easy listen … I am a very simple reviewer in I either like it or not lol
Narrator did a good job , new narrator for me but I like her
New author also and now on to book two … I like cowboy stories

Good story, painful narration

This was a sweet story. Unfortunately, the narration detracted greatly from any enjoyment of the book. At times, the narrator seemed to forget what “voice” they were using for which character. At times, the voice was so painful (the 5-year-old), I actually winced. Please - I would much rather listen to a story done well in one “voice”, than done poorly in many.
