The benefits of restrictive diets like paleo and keto have been touted for more than a decade, but as renowned gastroenterologist Dr. Will Bulsiewicz, or "Dr. B", illuminates in this groundbreaking audiobook, the explosion of studies on the microbiome makes it abundantly clear that elimination diets are in fact hazardous to our health. What studies clearly now show - and what Dr. B preaches with his patients - is that gut health is the key to boosting our metabolism, balancing our hormones, and taming the inflammation that causes a host of diseases.

Publisher's summary
Data-driven diet guidance to be healthy and feel your best.
Have you ever heard the saying “What gets measured gets managed?” You probably have, but maybe counting calories and checking your weight every day haven’t gotten you where you want to be.
It’s not your fault. Typical diets and even doctors’ advice don’t provide a sustainable action plan for successful weight loss. As a result, we measure the wrong things—calories in and the number on the scale. To get healthy and feel our best every day, we need to look upstream. An exciting technology allows us to do just that.
You may have seen continuous glucose monitors on diabetics, but have you ever thought about how they could help you? A continuous glucose monitoring device, or CGM, shows how different foods affect your metabolism in real time. Specifically, a CGM tracks your blood glucose so you can adjust what you eat, how much, and when.
Thousands of people are losing stubborn weight they never thought they could—and keeping it off—thanks to this revolutionary device that painlessly rests on the upper arm.
In The Continuous Glucose Monitoring Revolution, weight-loss and metabolic-health specialist Paul Kolodzik, MD, reveals how CGM devices can help reverse chronic disease, prevent future sickness, and lengthen your lifespan, all by measuring and managing the right data.
Whether you’re just now learning about CGM for the first time or you’re ready to try one, The Continuous Glucose Monitoring Revolution will help you make an informed decision, take control of your future, and easily turn healthy choices into habits.

It’s not just you. Stress levels are at an all-time high—so much so that a recently convened panel of medical experts in the US has recommended that all adults under the age of 65 be screened for anxiety. In How to Release Anxiety, Gabby Bernstein offers simple, actionable steps for feeling better, living with more ease, and showing up for those around us. Gabby’s unusual advice: Rather than manage your anxiety, what if you befriended it? Gabby posits that what we befriend, we can ultimately be at ease with. So she invites us to get curious.

Dr. Ross Greene, a distinguished clinician and pioneer in the treatment of kids with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges, has worked with thousands of explosive children, and he has good news: these kids aren't attentionseeking, manipulative, or unmotivated, and their parents aren't passive, permissive disciplinarians. Rather, explosive kids are lacking some crucial skills in the domains of flexibility/adaptability, frustration tolerance, and problem solving, and they require a different approach.

Today, most doctors, dietitians, and even diabetes specialists consider type 2 diabetes to be a chronic and progressive disease - a life sentence with no possibility of parole. But the truth, as Dr. Fung reveals in this paradigm-shifting book, is that type 2 diabetes is reversible. Writing with clear, persuasive language, he explains why conventional treatments that rely on insulin or other blood-glucose-lowering drugs can actually exacerbate the problem, leading to significant weight gain and even heart disease.

Story
Most diet books teach you to set short-term weight loss goals. Whether low-carb or low-fat, the typical plan goes like this: restrict your food choices, exercise until exhaustion, and swallow stacks of supplements. These “solutions” do a better job of lightening your wallet than lightening you. Meanwhile, the healthcare industry fails to prevent chronic disease. Rather than showing people how to remain healthy and prevent illness through proper nutrition, the system offers drugs and surgery to manage symptoms.

So Very Informative
This book was so extremely informative. Throughout the read, I found myself stopping and taking notes and jotting down areas of information that I found rivetingly intriguing. I have both the audio book, as well as, the physical book—where the pages are filled with marginalia! Anyone looking for improved health would benefit from this read.

Life Changing!
I just got the Dexcom g7 last week, I love the concept of this clinic, the educational details in this book and I wish we had a clinic like this in Canada. My prediction is that individual level data informed health coaching will be the new health revolution! Really looking forward to seeing how the CGM revolution unfolds over time.
