Publisher's summary

USA Today bestselling author Meghan Quinn delivers a smart and cheeky romance about love’s power to lift hearts...and curses.

It was supposed to be an innocent night, celebrating my brother’s birthday. Nothing was supposed to go wrong. We’d vowed to be on our best behavior after all...

But it only took one rowdy night with my brothers to flip my world upside down. One unlucky encounter saddled us with a family curse and the promise of doomed relationships. I laughed it off immediately. “Yeah, right,” I thought. “A love curse. Ha!”

Boy, was I wrong.

Word spreads quickly in a town like mine; rumors about that night soon made us the most eligible yet untouchable bachelors in Port Snow, Maine. As a subject of endless gossip and speculation, I could kiss my dating life goodbye.

It would have stayed that way if Ren Winters, the new girl in town, hadn’t crashed into my life. Brave, beautiful, and smart—her vivacious thirst for a fresh start has given me hope that maybe, just maybe, I can have one too.

Everyone wishes for that second chance...but could this really be mine?

Too much gratuitous profanity

if you can overlook the f-word patois, this is a good story. The narrators have good diction, and the story follows a predictable-but-comfortable trajectory.

Actually started ok, but struggled to finish

Pretty simplistic. Ok, we can roll with the premise but lord, the contrived meetings... the camping trip... her parents... her MOM... and then HIS family! Throwing Griffin a party?? Really?? How freaking old must we be to find that endearing or funny? And finally, because I just can’t NOT say anything: CHEESY lobster bisque?? You’d be laughed out of Maine. Sigh. Sorry. This really long book could be contained in a brief Harlequin format.

I Loved It!

I Loved It! Kept me on the edge of my seat. Enjoyed listening to the Narrator's. I chose more books in this series and then searched for other books with the same narrator's after the series was dome. Easy listening.

Really great story!

I really liked this story, it drew me right in instantly! I just wish the narrators would’ve worked together on the entire story narrating male/female to help keep the vision of the characters in my mind. It’s hard to enjoy a sex scene when the man is narrating the woman & himself.

Overall though the voices were great & narrating really good I loved the both of them. I can’t wait for book 2. This family is a lot of fun & so real!

loved it

(Griffin & Ren): Loved this book. An ill fated trip to New Orleans and a bad run in with a fortune teller leaves the Knightley brothers with a curse of doomed relationships. Griffin is a volunteer firefighter and runs the family fudge shop. He's been single for a while and plans to stay that way. Ren is new in town and she arrives with a bang. Their chemistry is magnetic, they fit perfectly but Griffin keeps his walls up because of the curse. This doesn't stop the Knightley family from doing their best to get them together. The book will give you laughter, tears and extremely high temperatures because these two characters are HOT!!! 🔥🔥🔥

Fun!

I really enjoyed this slow burn romance between Griffin and Ren. It’s funny, heartwarming and easy listen. The whole small town premise. Loved the camping trip adventure.

When love overcomes a curse...

The Knightly brothers were celebrating the 21st birthday of the youngest in New Orleans, when an unfortunate drunken accident results in a curse on their love lives. They think nothing of it until the oldest, Griffin, experiences a devastating loss. Now everyone in town believes that the Knightly bros are cursed and stay away. Ren is the new girl in town...she’s moved from CA to Maine to regain control of her life after a life threatening car accident...and to take the position of algebra teacher at the local school. She didn’t count on a moose encounter that sent her car into a tree...seriously! Ren meets the hunky volunteer firefighter, Griffin, when he rescues her from the car...in the tree. Ren befriends the aloof Griffin and he reluctantly lets her in. But can Griffin get past the guilt of ‘the curse’ to find love again? This story was engaging, funny and oh so cute. I’m looking forward to Rogan’s story next!!!
