Publisher's summary

From USA Today and Amazon Charts bestselling author Meghan Quinn comes a fun, sexy story about the family dynamics that can stand in the way of rekindling a romance.

Prepared for a good time, Tessa is thrilled to spend the weeks before her sister’s wedding at their family’s favorite vacation spot: Santorini. Sandy beaches, stonewashed houses, attractive men—it’s heaven.

But Tessa’s idea of a girls’ trip comes to a screaming halt when her sister thinks it’s high time Tessa finds some love herself. Unfortunately, Tessa forgot about the deal she made back in high school: she has to find her soulmate before her sister’s wedding. Or else.

As she dodges suitors and her sister’s pranks, Tessa finds an ally in the oh-so-dreamy Myles, her childhood crush who just so happens to work at the resort. But Myles is dealing with some family conflict of his own. He’s elated at being reunited with Tessa, but his father’s refusal to acknowledge his interest in the family business and relegating him to only grunt work casts a dark cloud.

As Tessa and Myles help navigate their way through their families’ antics, they begin to realize that their past feelings may have a future—if only they can turn their island fantasies into something real.

Critic reviews

“Narrator CJ Bloom brings Quinn’s characters to life using different pitches to distinguish the diverse women characters; narrator Lee Samuels uses a sexy voice for Myles while also portraying Myles’s father with a stern Greek accent. Quinn’s descriptive writing pulls the reader in with references to the Aegean Sea, the blue and white buildings, and the Greek culture.”Library Journal

“Quinn spins a funny, sexy tale with a quirky protagonist against the backdrop of the breathtaking views found in a Grecian paradise.”Library Journal

Tessa and Myles!

Tessa is looking forward to a girl’s trip with her twin sister and their two best friends to Greece, the place which holds so many wonderful childhood memories including her first crush even if she was too uncomfortable to act upon it. It has been years since she has been there when he was, so she didn’t expect to see him again or that the feelings she had for him are stronger than ever.

Myles has been living in NY while he studied hotel management and has recently returned to Greece to help his father with the family resort. When he sees Tessa, the sparks fly but not only are they battling the fact that he lives in Greece, and she lives in NY but lots of family turmoil as well.

Even though her sister did everything she could to derail the relationship between Tessa and Myles which caused some heartbreak along the way she did redeem herself in the end. Myles was the perfect mix of sweet and swoony and helps Tessa realize what will truly bring her happiness. I enjoyed the performance of the narrators as they brought out all the different aspects of the story and the characters.

Closer to 3.5 than 3 stars but…

The writing was good, the story was good, the performance was good and the chemistry was good. I really did like this book and every ingredient was there for me to really love it BUT I personally felt like it had with way too much filler dialog. You know when you’re writing a paper and need 500 words but you only have 400 so you just start adding random content to beef up your word count? Like that. If it had been slimmed down a tad, I would have really loved it.

Vacation Wars

Concept of living by contract not believable. The female willing to give up her life not believable. Everyone else having the life they want, but she was willing to give up her life not believable. The story started getting boring. I skipped through a lot of chapters. The male voice reading the female part in male chapters awful. With everything being done with computers today. When you have both female and male narration, you should have the correct gender reading the parts. I listen to samples of audio and if I do not like the voice,I either just read or do not
Purchase at all.

Just Okay

The main character was just too over the top awkward, snarky and sarcastic to be believable. The were parts I began to enjoy but then the snark would be inserted again and kill my enjoyment.

Entertaining

I wasn’t sure if I would enjoy it when I heard the opening credits. I thought it would be too cheesy, but I ended up quite entertained with the characters. The storyline is predictable, but enjoyable at the same time.
