Publisher's summary

The heart-stopping conclusion to the New York Times best-selling Shatter Me series, which Ransom Riggs, best-selling author of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, called "a thrilling, high-stakes saga of self-discovery and forbidden love."

With Omega Point destroyed, Juliette doesn’t know if the rebels, her friends, or even Adam are alive. But that won’t keep her from trying to take down The Reestablishment once and for all. Now she must rely on Warner, the handsome commander of Sector 45. The one person she never thought she could trust. The same person who saved her life. He promises to help Juliette master her powers and save their dying world...but that’s not all he wants with her.

The Shatter Me series is perfect for fans who crave action-packed young adult novels with tantalizing romance like Divergent by Veronica Roth, The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, and Legend by Marie Lu. Tahereh Mafi has created a captivating and original story that combines the best of dystopian and paranormal, and was praised by Publishers Weekly as "a gripping read from an author who’s not afraid to take risks." Now this final book brings the series to a shocking and satisfying end.

Critic reviews

“Rip-roaring adventure and steamy romance scenes, with a relationship teens will root for as much as they did for Bella and Edward. Inventive touches propel the story, such as strikeouts that reveal Juliette’s inner thoughts. The final chapters leave Juliette, Adam, and Warner well poised for round two.” ( Booklist)

Perfect for teens who love Dystopian romance

I'm 13 years old. I absolutely LOVED this book. This is the 3rd book in the shatter me series. It's perfect for kids like me who love romances with the "bad boy".

SPOILERS
I didn't like how Mafi felt the need to dis Adam in order to make Warner look good. I've loved Warner since shatter me. There was no need to make Adam turn a whole 180 in order to make Warner look like a hero all of the sudden. In unravel me when he talking to Juliette my love for him grew even more. Some people might say that taking away someone's privacy doesn't mean you know them and isn't love. Let's be honest her. Juliette always was careful around Adam. She projected herself a certain way. Warner is better for her because he pushed her limits. He made her better and he understood her better. She wasn't weak around him. She stood up for herself and rebelled.

Enough with the romance. The world wasn't completely laid out for us. I'm not mad at it though. I do wish we focused more on the society rather than Juliette's inner turmoil. In the end the "fight scene" was terrible. It was rushed and wasn't descriptive enough for me. POOF Anderson is dead. And no follow up? What happens after a inexperienced 17 year old takes over the sector? The story wasn't enough. It feels unfinished. Even if you're going to follow up books they need to have their own ending. You can't even say that was a cliff hanger because it wasn't.

My favorite character is Kenji. I can see the personal growth with him. He shows us a side we didn't get to see before because he hides behind the jokes. Always laughing and smiling as if nothings wrong. My poor baby:(

Also I don't think Warner switched up. He was a little nicer but not to the point where it was unrealistic like Adam. Juliette's perception of him was completely wrong. Warner looks more so misunderstood now and I don't know how I feel about that. I miss what made him the antagonist. I feel like Mafi could have switched everything up but in a more subtle way. That's just my opinion over all I loved it. This book got me through Christmas break as I played it on repeat. I analyzed and over analyzed thinking about everything. I would write a much longer review, but it's 10:37 pm and I'm tired.
END OF SPOILER

Please excuse any spelling and punctuation errors. Keep in mind that I'm 13. This book isn't for everyone and I would recommend it to the lower age teens. The book is focused more on Juliette and how she feels. It gives this book a nice spin because most books focus on the society rather than the person. If you would rather the book is a true Dystopian novel then this book isn't for you sorry.

No disappointments here! Loved this series!

I totally agree with the sentiment that finally there's a YA series with a good ending! And I don't mean that because everyone is alive and happy in the end...I mean that because I didn't want to stop listening and didn't want it to end! I love Tahereh Mafi's writing style! Always beautiful and never boring. Each character has a distinct personality that Kate Simses narration really brings to life! I wish there were more books to read with Kate Simses narrating. She is so good. (I've already read the "Matched" series). I will definitely be reading anything else that Tahereh Mafi comes out with!

An Excellent 3rd Book

Would you consider the audio edition of Ignite Me to be better than the print version?

I prefer the audio version so I can kick back and relax.

What other book might you compare Ignite Me to and why?

Ignite Me is similar to other Dystopian books.

What does Kate Simses bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She has a great voice and reads very well.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

The Time Has Come.

Any additional comments?

This 3rd book was better than the second and just as good as the first in the series.

Pretty Good Series

Would you listen to Ignite Me again? Why?

Maybe in a few years, if I've forgotten the storyline. While this was not an outstanding listen, it held my interest. I listened to the other two books in the series, and my comments below would apply to them, too. I do suggest you listen to them in order.

Any additional comments?

Narrator did an absolutely excellent job with the different characters' voices. She managed to make the males actually sound like men...sexy ones, too. The little boy sounded like a little boy. I did get very tired of hearing Juliet describing her breathing problems...she forgot to breathe, had to remind herself to breathe, couldn't breathe, etc. And not because she was sick. The author seemed unable to find any other words to describe Juliet's feelings. Had it not been for the excellent narration, I might have given up on the book because of that one issue. It was really irritating.

Can we get a 6th star for this one?

Would you consider the audio edition of Ignite Me to be better than the print version?

This book was worth the wait - and there was a serious countdown at my house. It's the writing style that draws me to this series. Tahereh Mafi is poetic in the way she unwraps each character and makes us readers feel what they're feeling. Even when they behave badly, we can understand why they'd react that way - so human, so flawed, so like us. I loved this book, the evolution our main characters and who they were ultimately revealed to be. The storyline took the course that we'd expect from a dystopia, but this wasn't a straight road to the conclusion. It was full of hills, valleys, potholes and turns. The beauty of the dystopia genre is our "one" - the one who rises up despite the odds and takes on the great evil to save those who can't save themselves and this book doesn't disappoint. All the stars to Ignite Me.

Have you listened to any of Kate Simses’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, she sounds like I pictured Juliette to sound - great casting.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes, Kenji is a crack up! But you feel anxious at the action portions, shocked at Adam in general and heart-warmed at the right parts too.

Any additional comments?

I love this author and hope she writes a hundred more books! I recommend this series to all of my reading friends.
