Publisher's summary

When a floating city becomes the target of a rash of vampire attacks, only one man can restore the oasis.

"The City," a tiny metropolis of a few hundred sheltered citizens floating serenely on a seemingly random course a few feet above the ground, has long been thought safe from the predation of marauding monsters. It seemed like a paradise.

A paradise shattered when an invasion of apparent vampires threatens the small haven. While the Vampire Hunter known only as "D" struggles to exterminate the scourge, a former denizen of the city, the attractive Raleigh Knight, and the brash John M. Brassalli Pluto VIII seize control of the city lurching it onto a new and deadly course. D's travails are just beginning.

Adapted from the novel and produced with a full cast of actors, immersive sound effects and cinematic music!

Performed by Scott McCormick, David Cui Cui, Christopher Graybill, Alex Hill-Knight, David Jourdan, Joey Sourlis, Samantha Turret, Holly Adams, Terence Aselford, James Lewis, Dawn Ursula, Stephanie Németh-Parker, Dan Delgado, Ian Putnam, Michael John Casey, Wyn Delano, Eric Messner, and Steve Wannall.

D's futuristic world put into perspective

this story puts D on a floating and mobile city that truly sets the high-tech and futuristic tone of D's world. D must fight a new type of vampire that ignores the rules and doctrine that have limited vampires since their beginning. Another masterful tale by Kikuchi and should not be missed.

A Grimdark Mystery

A great cast of characters that flesh out the story and the world around them.

really picking up

I've always felt the first and third book were 'just okay" more or less. but book two and four is when it really starts picking up. I'm really enjoying the performance and the quality and the soundtrack. definitely worth picking up. i hope all 30 books get the graphic audio treatment.

D could beat the crap outta the Witcher any day of the week!

Love the detective style D adventure! The story jumps right in and doesn’t waste your time! If you already like D books then it’s a no brainer!

Solid Entry

While not the genre-stew masterpiece of the original, nor quite as elegant as Demon Deathchase, Tale of a Dead Town is still a fun, pulpy post-apocalyptic weird western. A simple story, well told, but certainly elevated by the graphic audio treatment.

Bucko

So far this is the fourth book I finished. As a novel it is all over the place, lots of filler but in the end it was all worth it. There is a reference to previous novel but which one? You have to listen to find out!
