Seventeen-year-old Hajime Nagumo is your average, everyday otaku. However, his simple life of pulling all-nighters and sleeping in school is suddenly turned upside down when he, along with the rest of his class, is summoned to a fantasy world! They're treated like heroes and tasked with the duty of saving the human race from utter extinction. But what should have been any otaku's wet dream quickly turns into Hajime's nightmare. While the rest of his class are blessed with godlike powers, Hajime's job, Synergist, only has a single transmutation skill. Ridiculed and bullied by his classmates for being weak, he soon finds himself in despair. Will he be able to survive in this dangerous world of monsters and demons with only a glorified blacksmith's level of strength?

Very good

Hopefully the rest of the series will come to audiobook very soon so I can listen to it all because waiting is a pain

Even better than the anime

This is the best anime to novel I have ever read. You can feel the author's love bleeding through his words. I cannot wait for the next book to come out.

Great light novel series

I’ve enjoyed this light novel many times and was excited to see it as a audio book. If there is one thing to improve is have male voice actor handle the male parts and the female voice actor handle the female parts instead of having it split the book in half for one then the other it would improve the immersion and overall quality definitely buying the rest in this series as it my favorite series. Looking forward to seeing them released

Finally!

I read up on these books as they were being translated on the Jnovel website and truly love the story. I was so happy to see it get on audible, my preferred way to immerse myself in books.

The switch on narrators confuses me but they both did a good job. I gave it a 4 star for performance because I prefer keeping the same voice actors. Why couldn't they have her do the female voices and him the males? It's what I anticipated and was a little disappointed about.

The story, though, is one of my favorites. I highly endorse this book and wish for more people to experience it!

Was pulled in to the book

Was very happy with the book. I was pulled into it and loved the detail of everything made it so easy to follow and made it where my imagination could picture everything and the over all performance of the narrators was excellent. I just so enjoyed the book to its fullest and can’t wait for the next book.

Fantastic!

So first off getting the actor who played Hajime to narrate was a master stroke. Especially since he voiced and did the reactions perfectly

I will note on the second narrator, at first when she started I wasn't for her in this book. I had the thought that she was a good narrator, but the sound effects for a good deal of time were more the kinds of sounds you'd do for children than an actual reading of something like this for an audiobook, so it really took away from the book compared to the already perfect sounds used before.

As she read though she really started getting better and better, and by the end really had it down.

You will, when she first comes in likely complain you'd rather just have the first narrator read it all, and I totally understand, but...as you get closer to the end you'll get more happy with her

Yes, the actor who does the voice for Hajime is fantastic and we'd happily listen to the whole book with him, but, now I can say we will be happy with both

I honestly can't wait for the next light novel audiobook to be released! Please!! It can't come soon enough

Major thanks for getting the voice actors on this, and major thanks to the voice actors for doing this. You are majorly appreciated

Loved it all but narrator switch

I´m not a huge fan of switching narrators between chapters. Each narrator should focus in specific characters, there are plenty of audiobooks like this ( monogatari series for example).

For example, Morgan Laure voicing of each character felt the same. It really ruins the immersion when you guess who is talking due to context.

Book 2 please

As a truck driver audiobooks make up the bulk of my library. As an anime fan spanning over 3 decades now I’m so happy to live in a time where I can listen to audiobooks of the LNs I’ve come to enjoy while driving. The novel went into far more depth than the anime as to be expected expanding on Hajimes classmates and their various exploits while he’s trapped in the Orcus labyrinth. A bit more lovey dovey incite into the relationship between Hajime and Yue. A boat load of exposition (though none of it boring) about Hajimes personality and his experimentation with magic, equipment, and weapons. Overall, a good book presented by two voice actors who did an excellent job in both narration and character voices. Hoping and praying for a quick but, quality second book. Thanks so much to all involved in its production.
