Publisher's summary

One year after the tragic events of The Fallen Star, the Jedi fight to break the Nihil’s control over the galaxy.

The galaxy is divided. Following the shocking destruction of Starlight Beacon, the Nihil have established an impenetrable barrier called the Stormwall around part of the Outer Rim, where Marchion Ro rules and his followers wreak havoc at his every whim. Jedi trapped behind enemy lines, including Avar Kriss, must fight to help the worlds being pillaged by the Nihil while staying one step ahead of the marauders and their Nameless terrors.

Outside the Nihil’s so-called Occlusion Zone, Elzar Mann, Bell Zettifar, and the other Jedi work alongside the Republic to reach the worlds that have been cut off from the rest of the galaxy. But every attempt to breach the Stormwall has failed, and even communication across the barrier is impossible. The failures and losses weigh heavily upon both Elzar and Bell as they search desperately for a solution.

But even if the Republic and Jedi forces manage to breach the Stormwall, how can the Jedi fight back against the Nameless creatures that prey on the Jedi’s connection to the Force? And what other horrors does Marchion Ro have in store? As desperation for both the Jedi and the Republic grows, any hope of reuniting the galaxy could be all but extinguished. . . .

how strong the enemy has become

I wanted to learn how to Storm wall was created, how they gained the resources to build such a fascinating blockade and so vast!

Great Story

As usual, outstanding performance by Marc Thompson. Great story about the struggles of the Jedi, and per Star Wars, there was Hope

Exactly what the saga needed

This book was the perfect amount of light in dark and accelerating the story forward that was needed to reignite my passion for the high Republic

The High Republic Strikes Again

Another fantastic outing in this new era of Star Wars and a fantastic kickoff to phase 3. Fans of phase 1 will be thrilled to see these characters again. It’s devastating at times but oh so satisfying at others. The character development and story progression that’s played out throughout all these books and comics is superb and I cannot wait to see what happens next.

A fantastic kick off to phase 3 of the High Republic story! Marc Thompson once again knocks it out of the park with his narration. Bravo!

Good Start to Phase III

I liked it but didn't love it. It was a good start to phase III and it felt good to get the familiar faces back and to hear more of the story but it just didn't jump out at me to give it 5 stars.

Everything Was Amazing

This book made me feel some things. I won't lie, the hopeless feeling of the Nihil having control over the outer rim is something I was looking forward to. Marc Thompson's performance was perfect as always, he really stands out with his voice for Marchion Ro. I can't wait for the next novel. Overall, I'd put this as my second favorite High Republic story overall, so far. Maybe something in the future installments will take over The Rising Storm as my favorite.

Phase 3, Here We Go!

Not going to lie, the opening chapters definitely got me excited to get back to the High Republic where we left off. And it propelled me the rest of the way. I was so happy to rejoin with so many beloved characters. Even wanting more! But alas, this book does great job with its direction and kudos to the narrator for being the driving force on why this story feels so climatic at times. Can't wait for the next one.
