Publisher's summary

BEING A TEENAGER IS HARD ENOUGH WITHOUT ALSO TRAINING TO BE A JEDI….

Obi-Wan Kenobi has not been apprenticed long to Qui-Gon Jinn, and he is chafing at Qui-Gon's training style: all meditation, no action. Obi-Wan yearns to prove himself on a mission, but when he and Qui-Gon are finally set to leave on an assignment, Qui-Gon is nowhere to be found. Angered by his master's abandonment, Obi-Wan sets out on the mission alone, determined to prove himself.

On a mysterious planet he encounters a pack of feral, Force-wielding teens who seem to be the planet's only inhabitants. As he experiences wild freedom with them and wonders if this isn't the life he was meant for, Obi-Wan can't escape the nagging sense that something is wrong with the Force there. Growing attachments, startling revelations, and a looming threat to both the planet and his new friends will bring Obi-Wan face-to-face with his worst fear: that maybe he was never supposed to be a Jedi at all.

Can he connect with the living Force in time to save himself and everyone around him?

It's the star of the Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ limited series as you've never seen him before….

Pretty Entertaining

If you love Obi-Wan then you won't be disappointed. It is a pretty quick to the point story with no real stakes but entertaining and a fun back in time romp with one of the greatest Jedi. It also has some good lessons about fear and moving forward on one's own path.

Good. Solid coming of age story

The writting was simple but pleasant. Some books with a lot of internal musing can. be boring but the author did an excellent job of making the turmoil interesting.

The performance of Obi-Wan and Quigons voices were done well, though some of the ither characters it was hard to differentiate. look forward of seeing more books form this author inthe star wars universe and the audio book actor.

First Mission

Kenobi always seemed so in tune with nature. It was fun to find out how that came to be. It was nice to see a Jedi who struggles with his place in the universe. His self-doubt gives a little context as to how he could become so meek and troubled after the events of Order 66.

Basically Lost Boys but in space

Not a bad listen and very well acted. Kenobi’s voice is on point. Overall story is kind of like Obi-Wan and the Lost Boys. It could be a great mini arc for something animated

Obviously a YA novel but still good

There were a few corny and cliche moments, but it's important to remember that this book was written for 11-18y/os. I think the fact that I, a grown man, was entertained despite those corny moments speaks to this book's strengths.

It definitely reminded me a lot of high school. It was also really nice to see where obi-wan met a certain character for the first time. And the book tidied up at the end to close off any questions about why certain things never appear in the lore again.

Best Star Wars prequel Era book

Ovi Wan and Qui Gon remain as the most interesting charecters in all of Star Wars. who would of thought a YA novel about padawan obi wan would be the book to rekindle childhood nostalgia to the point where it felt like I was back at 10 years old watching phantom menace in theaters, but here we are. I'm immensely glad I read this book, the author did a great job in capturing what it means to be a jedi and a grand adventure of finding yourself. 10/10
