Sherlock Holmes is an unparalleled genius who uses the gift of deduction and reason to solve the most vexing of crimes. Warlock Holmes, however, is an idiot. A good man, perhaps; a font of arcane power, certainly. But he's brilliantly dim. Frankly, he couldn't deduce his way out of a paper bag. The only thing he has really got going for him are the might of a thousand demons and his stalwart flatmate. Thankfully, Dr. Watson is always there to aid him through the treacherous shoals of Victorian propriety.

This was more a story about Watson than anything. It dragged a bit towards the end and there really wasn’t much character building done for the other characters. The narrator was good!

From Lovegrove's showcasing the brilliance of SH in an ancient Greek cult setting. Kleinman narration is sterling as always and adds a great deal to the story. Loved it.

Getting to know Watson better
Some complained about how much more this story is about Watson than the others but I genuinely enjoyed it. This book also comically reminds us why Holmes usually takes the lead.

Poor Doctor Watson
While I thoroughly enjoy the Sherlock Holmes mysteries, one of the main problems I have with the continued adventures is that they do not credit Dr. Watson with enough intelligence. He was smart enough that Sherlock Holmes kept him as a companion, and yet the most obvious things continue to elude him.
