Publisher's summary

In the 1980s and 1990s, the late Terry Golledge wrote 10 Holmes masterful pastiches that perfectly captured Dr. Watson's voice, as well as Holmes’ personality and methods. Mr. Golledge passed away in 1996, before these stories could be published.

In early 2022, Terry’s son, Niel Golledge, reached out to Sherlockian editor David Marcum, who was electrified to read such wonderful previously lost tales about the heroes of Baker Street. Now all of these valuable and sublime new additions to the great Holmes tapestry, once unknown except to a very few, are collected in an important new volume and available to the world.

A satisfying visit to Baker Street

Although there were a few non-Holmesian utterances, all in all this was a nice addition to the universe. The stories had the flavor of the Canon, and were a pleasant way to while away a few evenings.

The reader did an excellent job of vocal characterization, and handled the accents and genders with aplomb. I will definitely be looking for more from this author, and this reader.

A new set of Holmes stories!

The Rediscovered Annals of Sherlock Holmes brings us 10 previously unpublished stories written in the 1980s and 1990s by Terry Golledge. Each one is a gem. The narration by Michael Langan is wonderful. His performance brings the characters and stories to life and is a gift to the Holmes fan and listener. I received a free audiobook code for my honest review.

I stayed for the listen, but it wasn’t an easy choice

I don’t feel the stories were true to Sherlock Holmes, and the narrator was barely tolerable

A nice anthology

If you are looking for a winding anthology with various small and big cases, you have found it. Golledge and Langan deliver a wonderful product worthy of your time.

Fun and diverting stories in the spirit of ACD

I don't feel like this collection is great, but do feel like they are good and occasionally very good. I found the narration to be oddly halting, but much more enjoyable at 1.2 speed.

More of the real thing

Truly a wonderful listen, highly recommend to lovers of the original and as close to the real thing as one could ask for.

Couldn’t get through it

The narrator’s voice and repetitive inflection in every sentence was disturbing and distracting. The characters were not a good representation of the originals. And it seemed there was more emphasis on trying to create good stories and less on the subject (Sherlock Holmes). Very poorly done.
