Publisher's summary

Desperate times....

He was only a "beginner" shaman, but Sam Verner had to find a cure to ward off the curse on his sister. Only something of great magic would do the trick. His quest took him to a mystical citadel in Australia, where, with the aid of his shadow runner friends, he recovered a strange artifact he hoped would prove helpful.

Desperate measures....

But instead of anything that even remotely resembled help, an unexpected and ancient terror was released - a terror that erupted into a shadow war for dominion over an awakened earth. And while the evil kept growing, inexorably drawing him into battle, the curse's power over his sister was also growing, bringing her closer and closer to death.

Soon, a truly desperate Sam realized that the last and only hope for saving his sister was to find the greatest shaman of the Sixth World, former leader of the Great Ghost Dance - a man who may no longer exist....

Great ending to the trilogy!

Really enjoyed this book. Great character development and lots of plot twists. Was disappointed to find that the author’s other Shadowrun novels are not available on Audible. Looks like I will have to hit up a used book store for physical copies.

Good end to a trilogy

A solid Shadowrun story and a good end to trilogy. While some may find flaws in the literary art or aural experience, I would point out that you can find flaws in anything. As far as an audiobook sci-fantasy experience goes, this is a solid 5/5.

Couldn't stop listening!

Masterfully woven plot and sub-plots. Magical drama captures the imagination, and the honest assessment of one's highest priorities makes this a great finish to the trilogy.

A wonderful web of tales

I was hooked on this trilogy within the first 5 minutes. I found the characters to have depth and relatable.

As much as i enjoyed the story, the narration was extremely well done.

I HIGHLY recommend this series to anyone that enjoys fantasy and/or cyberpunk.

a good end, if a stumble

This end to the series certainly brings together everything and cuts off all loose threads. Though some of it feels clumsy, or rushed, with the ending in particular feeling like quite a quick rush of events. Finally, it is a bit cliche in its ending, but otherwise is an enjoyable read especially if you are already invested in Sam's story.

A Thrilling End to the Essential Shadowrun Tale!

I loved this story, but I'll admit that the rapid changes in perspective left me disoriented in parts. There are enough threads to make 2 or 3 novels, and put together they cannibalize each other a bit. Still, it's a great story, and it kept me hooked end to end!

In particular, Tren Sparks is an absolute LEGEND with his narration! His vocal range, and the extra effort he puts into acting, cadence, and voice effects adds a lot to the production. Honestly, the man spoils us with how much he puts into his work, and this trilogy's audiobook adaptation couldn't have been put in better hands!
