Suddenly hearing messages revealing his benevolent employer has a far darker side, he braves the dangerous megacity streets in search of the truth.
Surrounded by outcasts and criminals and running on instinct, Moss stumbles onto a rebel group intent on exposing their corrupt oppressors. And though he fears for his life when his old boss has put a price on his head, the naïve man believes the key to taking down the enemy may lie inside the high-tech device…and his own cerebral cortex.

Story
In the year 2107, the world has both made astounding leaps forward and reduced humanity to its most basic existence. While the megacorps and those who rule them enjoy lives of extraordinary comfort and ease, most people barely scrape by, doing whatever they can to keep going. Juliet Bianchi is one of the latter. She works cutting metal in a scrapyard and doesn't have much to show for it except for a small group of equally bereft, fiercely loyal friends. Still, she maintains a bright disposition, possessing more hope and optimism than anyone would expect her to—and she's going to need it.

Dick Awards, Neuromancer didn't just explode onto the science fiction scene - it permeated into the collective consciousness, culture, science, and technology.Today, there is only one science fiction masterpiece to thank for the term "cyberpunk," for easing the way into the information age and Internet society.

It seemed the unthinkable had happened. Someone had actually targeted the Ghalian, an order of assassins known and feared across the systems. It was madness. Only a fool would go after the likes of them. But, it seemed, the galaxy had no shortage of fools. Retaliation most bloody was in order, and one man stood ready to spring into action. Hozark was his name, and he was no ordinary man. He was a Master Ghalian, an assassin skilled in the ways of death. Practical, mechanical, magical, to him it made no difference.

Story
When out-of-shape IT technician Roen wakes up and starts hearing voices in his head, he naturally assumes he’s losing it. He isn’t. As of last night, he has a passenger in his brain - an ancient alien life-form called Tao, whose race crash-landed on Earth before the first fish crawled out of the oceans. Over the millennia his people have trained human heroes to be great leaders, to advance our species at a rate far beyond what it would have achieved on its own. Split into two opposing factions - the peace-loving, but under-represented Prophus, and the savage, powerful Genjix - the aliens have been in a state of civil war for centuries.

From Dan Wells, author of the New York Times best-selling Partials Sequence, comes the first book in a new sci-fi-noir series. Los Angeles in 2050 is a city of open doors, as long as you have the right connections. That connection is a djinni - a smart device implanted right in a person's head. The last thing patrol cop Kate Prospero expected to find on her nightly rounds was a werewolf covered in the blood of his latest victim. But then, she also didn't expect that shooting him would land her in the crosshairs of a Magic Enforcement Agency task force, who wants to know why she killed their lead snitch. The more Prospero learns about the dangerous new potion the MEA is investigating, the more she's convinced that earning a spot on their task force is the career break she's been wanting. But getting the assignment proves much easier than solving the case.

Fascinating take
Great story over all although some small parts seemed more like filler then actual story progression. But that only happened 2 times. I highly recommend it to anyone who loved cyberpunk 2077 and needs a fix waiting for the next game or dlc.

Entertaining Crew Heist Sof Science Fiction
I got this book because it came up under the Cyberpunk tag, and it didn't really deliver on that front. There are elements of cyberpunk, but I feel like we need to coin the phrase Soft Cyberpunk to describe many of the books that I have listened to under that tag lately.
Some of the elements borrowed from the Cyberpunk genre include: characters with cybernetic limbs or neural implants, mega-corps that govern the planet, oppressed citizens, and a climate that has been trashed. Even though the book includes Cyberpunk elements, I feel like book's tone was too hopeful for a Cyberpunk book.
Part of the cheery tone comes down to the narrator, who did a good job with the voices and made the character expression feel lively. In-world, there is an excuse for this, because the character narrator was not exposed to the hard realities outside of a mega-corp for most of his life.
The other part of the hope and cheer in this book comes down to the book's pacing. The book focuses on action scenes more than world building. There is some world building, but it feels rushed and only serves as a means to get back to the action scenes.
While it may seem like I didn't enjoy the book, I found it entertaining, it just didn't live up to my idea of a good Cyberpunk book. Once I finish listening to a few other books, I will probably try to find the next collection in this series.
Over-all it was a fun read, but fun isn't normally what wrong expect to funny d in a Cyberpunk novel. I would say it is more like a Ready Player 2 than a Neuromancer.

Amazing Saga
Outstanding performance 🎭 of the trilogy, Amazing book and storytelling. I’m very satisfied and shall continue on the next series. This is a pure cyberpunk dystopian fantasy thriller 📣🤖👍🫶🏻

Good value, fun story, a few gripes.
Overall I like this book set. Plenty of time with the characters, good characters, very-good voice acting, and an interesting story arc. Great value for the cost. If you like SciFi, and heist stories, its a good pickup but not a masterpiece.
Ups: the voice actor kills it. Though he reads a little quickly sometimes. The book is quick, and the prose is easy to follow. Lead is relatable, and the supporting characters are interesting. The overall arc is great, and the tone and feel treat the genre with respect. Good dialog, often funny, good drama. Pulls at the heart strings.
Downs: ends abruptly IMO. Feels like it could culminate in something more satisfying. The world is a little more black and white than I prefer, though that may be more of a criticism of cyberpunk as a genre; if you read Necromancer, for example, you don’t find the same, “crops bad and only bad” sort of simplicity. The author does mitigate this sometimes, but it lacks integration with the world itself.
Is it Cyberpunk? It doesn’t have the same concerns that other forms of the genre have, exploring human nature and technology, body modification, etc. Considering the chance to update from the 1990s vision of the tech future, this book also misses a bit. No 3D printing? Crypto? Blockchain? Online Assets, Social media? Hard to imagine a future without it. It isn’t a brutal, almost YA until the parts with explicit violence and sex. It doesn’t have the nihilism of Cyberpunk Edgerunners, the digital landscape of Neuromancer or the high-tech romp of Cyberpunk 2077. But the aesthetics and world-building feel appropriate.

If you’ve just binged Edgerunners!
A must read since I’m sure Edgrunners has you starving for more Cyberpunk. Dive deeper into the lore and enjoy all the things the classic tale has to offer!

MOAR!
Cannot wait to get the rest of the series. If you loved Neuromancer you'll be into this series as well, I think it tries very hard to pay homage to it...and nails it. I will say that it tends to stay within a comfort zone tech-wise but not much compares to Neuromancer's cutting edge stuff when considering the era it came out. This feels like a great story set in the Cyberpunk game if that helps :)
