Publisher's summary

As a MechWarrior of the Draconis Combine, Minobu Tetsuhara was bound by Bushido - a code that demands loyal service - to the devious Warlord Grieg Samsonov. But when Minobu came upon a strange blue-and-gold Archer, Bushido also dictated that he not destroy the honorable but helpless warrior. And so begins the BattleTech Chronicles, books one, two, and three...

Rough start

The production put into these books fell flat with me. The first two books had music and background noise that I felt took away more than they added. The third book was much better in that regard and I enjoyed it more because of that. Overall still a good purchase, but not the best pick for anyone new to the MechWarrior universe.

I love Battletech

I've been reading the Battletech books for years. I'm glad they are available as audible books.

Better BT intro than Thunder Rift

If you ignore the weird transition sound effects, this is an enjoyable survey of key Inner Sphere moments leading up to the Clan Invasion.

2 of the books aged really well

I was surprised that the Bell tech universe especially the first books have held up so well in the years since I first read as a child. I recommend this book.

Nifty little tour of the Inner Sphere

enjoyed the shortenings of some of the more important novels of Battletech. but the sound effects were very distracting and don't seem to match even the 80's retro-future aesthetic.

Great introduction to the overall Battletech universe.

I think these books are some of the best in early battletech. I listen to them repeatedly

abridged stories!

Be aware: Wolves at the Border and Heir to the Dragon are both abridged in this set - I was really confused. I'll have to get the hard copies. :(

abridged

I really wish it wasn't abridged. I remember reading these books in my youth and I feel like a lot of good stuff was left out, but I cant remember what

3rd book felt meaningless

First two were good, enjoyed the story and sound effects, mech introductions. The third book was just nonstop fighting for the most part that you have no real reason to care about. I’m sure it matters if you move on to the next 3 books, but it was kinda boring overall so I won’t be doing that
