Publisher's summary

Senator Rylos bought me. But he'll never make me his.

I'll admit those are strong words for a woman who trembles at his touch. But I can't help it. His kind are as beautiful as they are cruel.

We crashed on his planet ten years after we fled Earth. Instead of helping us, they imprisoned us, then sold us off to the highest bidder.

I was the last human sold. Too much bad behavior. Yet Rylos dared to buy me and call me his pet.

He might be genetically engineered perfection on the outside, but I won't let him have me, no matter how hard it is to resist him. Because my goal is to escape.

I keep telling myself it'll be easy. Why does it feel like I'm lying?

QUICK READ!

I enjoyed it. This book was over very quickly but did not lack in entertainment. The narration was very good. This author did a great job with her characters. This was my first book by this author but definitely will not be my last. I look forward to reading other stories in this series. Short, Sweet, and Perfect Ending

This book was a delight. I listened to it on Audible, and I loved it. Marion is a strong character, and the story line was interesting. I felt eager to listen to this book every time I was forced to put it down. I really enjoyed Rylos. He was confident and eager to learn about Marion and her people. A sweet man. It wasn't insta-love, and they had many problems to work through, like the treatment of humans on the planet and learning more about each other. The ending was perfect for the book, and I'm happy to hear they are working on relations between the humans and the aliens.

I look forward to listening to the other books in the series.

Bad narration.

I didnt finish this book. The narrator gave the main female lead a very whinny tone.

Interesting Alien Encounter

First of all Love Meghan Kelly's narration. This story involves crash landing on an alien planet. So many differences yet so many similarities. The compassion and love at first sight kinda thing does happen even with Aliens. Who knew!

Interesting but I was hoping for more

I enjoyed this book

But I think it would have been better if the Senator’s point of view was in the book. with the book only from the females point of view makes it seem like it’s missing something.

This is a good short book to listen to at work

Slow-Burn SciFi Romance with High Stakes

Amanda Lyn here again from your favorite romance audiobook review source, Sounds Like Romance.

After crash-landing on an alien planet, Marion has spent months in captivity like an animal until she is adopted by Korystus Senator, Rylos. While trying to get the purple-hued male to understand that her people just want equal rights, she's forced to acknowledge the consequences of the crash that brought them together.

With a story that had just enough depth to keep the conflict steadily moving forward and a sensual heat level that built through the narrative, Meghan Kelley gives a solid performance that most scifi romance listeners will want to binge-listen. With subtle inflections and unique tones for each of the characters, Kelley delivers a well-rounded story that keeps you engaged and wanting to know what happens next.

While I could have done without the threat of sexual violence later on in the book (you've already had people enslaved and neglected and treated as objects, so relying on sexual violence to up the danger factor was not to my taste at all and might turn off other listeners, as well), I thought it was a fun story with a strong narrator to tell the tale. Solid start to a fun series that deftly weaves in political conflict to an otherwise fish-out-of-water feel that is integral to scifi romances.

My Two Pennies

Hearing Meghan Kelly narrate this story is what I feel made me keep going. I love the way this woman pulls the listener into the book and grab your attention with the voices of each individual character. Story wise 3.7 This was an interesting read, hearing the story of how Marion ended up on another planet and captured later to become the possession of Rylos kept things going. This is a determined woman that’s for sure and I could feel the passion she had for not only herself but those she was trying to help around her. Initially I wasn’t a fan of Rylos but as time went on and we see the layers peeling back he grows on me faster and harder. I enjoyed the story but not to the point where I’m itching to jump into the next book in the series. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

Keep this audio pet near your heart

This is my first listen from the author but not my first from the narrator Meghan Kelly . As always. Meghan did a beyond fantastic reading. Loved how the author Avery Rae draws the listener in with a suspensful , cunning , story. This listen also has a story showing unless you have the full story of events your mind might come to the wrong conclusion. It also shows that everyone should look at events below the surface and trust love .
Loved this story and how things might be far into the future with beings that our furious might depend on .

Meghan Kelly did a fantastic read. Her voice was clear, strong and smooth. Loved how you can tell by her voice each character .
I highly recommend this audio !!
