Zen Golf offers a fresh perspective for golf and for life. Rather than focus on what's wrong with us (what's broken, flawed, or missing) we can take the attitude that there is something fundamentally, essentially right with us. Through mindful awareness, distractions and negativity can be recognized and cleared away.
Clear, concise, and enlightening, Zen Golf introduces a unique combination of modern psychology, Buddhist wisdom, and professional golf instruction. By applying classic insights and stories to the challenges of golf, Zen Golf shows you how to make your mind an ally instead of an enemy: how to stay calm, clear the interference that leads to poor shots, and eliminate bad habits and mental mistakes. Zen Golf shapes ancient philosophies into new teachings, leading golfers to the effortless focus and unconditional confidence of being in "the zone."

"Zen Golf is the best book at connecting the mind and golf together. It's for everyone, and you're really going to like it." (Vijay Singh)
The book gives me profound principles and techniques that I can contemplate and carry into every moment of every day. It is making me aware that the key to playing better golf is becoming a better person. Thanks Dr. Parent!
I first listened to this book when I picked up golf 7 years ago.... I I liked the concept but I was struggling with my game to get better at it.... just recently I listen to it again and it took my game to a level where it's almost become a religious experience
Chill on the golf course. Much of golf is in your head. Control your emotions and you will be a much better player. Dr. Parent lays down a plan on just how to do that.
I found myself going back to hear chapters over and over because there is so much simple wisdom in every one. Though this is a guide to a new way of approaching golf, and completely practical, it will guide you toward different attitudes to the challenges of everyday living too. It's enormously helpful, encouraging, and inspirational. Dr Parent is a golfer and teacher, not an actor, so the narration is not outstanding, but it is competent and steady , perfectly ok for reading the book. Besides, it is nice to hear the teacher himself conveying his own methods.
Yes. No matter how many lessons, how many buckets of balls, regardless of handicap, every golfer needs to listen to this book
Great book & narration
I have recommended this book to several golfing friends and every one of them has reported at least a small improvement in their enjoyment of the game of golf. Of course, I play golf for enjoyment so that is the best any book can achieve.
I have always enjoyed the ideas of Zen and the presentation here of some key concepts is excellent. Even if you do not play or plan to play golf, this book would be good even if you know someone who does.
Helps one understand oneself as well as play better golf
the only character is you
awareness and observation
