This was an eye opening book! Who knew?

This book changed the way I interact with others
What made the experience of listening to The Five Love Languages: The Secret to Love That Lasts the most enjoyable?
I read this book years ago, and it changed my life and marriage. It was revolutionary to me to realize that just because I intend to show someone love it doesn't mean he or she will interpret it that way.
I don't think I would have taken the time to sit down and re-read in print, but it was good to listen to it again on my commute. Some of the quiz sections of the book don't work well in audio, but the stories and descriptions translate well to audio. I would recommend it in audio for those portions alone, but picking up a print copy in addition to the audio book is worthwhile.
What about Gary Chapman’s performance did you like?
I am not usually a fan of author's narration, but since most of the stories in the book are based on his own experiences it works in this case. The inflection and tone are just right because he is telling his own stories.

Sometimes it just takes someone to point it out
Any additional comments?
You know how sometimes after someone mentions something, you're like, "oh yeah, i didn't realize that!" ... I feel that this is what Gary is letting us know. We all know but don't know how to pinpoint how we want to be loved. Gary gives examples and ideas of how we all want to be loved in different ways. What we think we want to be loved, is not always what others what to be loved. It's such common sense, but Gary puts it in a perspective that is not condescending and his reading voice is enjoyable.
I really recommend this audiobook for just a good way to know how your loved ones like to be treated. I will be getting the one about kids soon.

just in time.
I had this book and just skimmed over it without ever really getting the message . then I listen to it through Audible and it all made sense and it's just in time to help me associate some of the things that are happening in my marriage with the love languages. it totally makes sense.love it.
