But the only way to have a real transformation is to stop thinking about it - and simply experience it." From the 1950s to the 1970s, this seminal teacher sparked the West's love for Eastern wisdom. Now, in these rare recorded gems, he inspires a new generation of inner explorers seeking deeper insights into meditation - its myriad forms, how they work, and what happens when we practice them.

Shetty grew up in a family where you could become one of three things—a doctor, a lawyer, or a failure. His family was convinced he had chosen option three: Instead of attending his college graduation ceremony, he headed to India to become a monk, to meditate every day for four to eight hours, and devote his life to helping others. After three years, one of his teachers told him that he would have more impact on the world if he left the monk’s path to share his experience and wisdom with others.

Story
In this book of key spiritual teachings from unpublished discourses, the great Advaita Master, Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj, teaches us that we are not limited to the body. Because of our mistaken body identity, we feel separate from what we truly are. Our identification with the body and mind subjects us to endless cycles of pleasure and pain, desire and fear, which cause us to search beyond ourselves for that which we believe we lack.

Humanity now, perhaps more than in any previous time, has an opportunity to create a new, saner, more loving world. This will involve a radical inner leap from the current egoic consciousness to an entirely new one. In illuminating the nature of this shift in consciousness, Tolle describes in detail how our current ego-based state of consciousness operates. Then gently, and in very practical terms, he leads us into this new consciousness. We will come to experience who we truly are and learn to live and breathe freely.

Publisher's summary
Our most cherished times are those occasions when we feel open, loving, free of worry yet able to respond when needed. Loch Kelly calls this the expression of open-hearted awareness, our natural foundation of mind that arises effortlessly whenever we step out of the usual mode of consciousness known as ego-identification. Created as a stand-alone program or a complement to his book of the same name, Shift into Freedom is a progressive training guide that offers "small glimpses, many times" to help us shift out of our chattering mind and into who we really are.
- Join this innovative teacher to explore more than 20 meditations including:
- Awareness Yoga - a foundational practice in moving awareness
- Embodied Presence - a practice for deeply feeling unity and acceptance
- Unhook, Drop, Open, See, Include, Know, Let Be - a way to shift levels of mind that culminates in living from open-hearted awareness
"The goal of these meditations is not to transcend the human condition," explains Loch Kelly, "but to discover how to live a fully intimate human life." Shift into Freedom gives you the tools to navigate your life with clarity and unconditional love.

The ancient Toltecs believed that life, as we perceive it, is a dream. We each live in our own personal dream, and these come together to form the dream of the planet, or the world in which we live. Problems arise when our perception of the dream becomes clouded with negativity, drama, and judgment (of ourselves and others), because it's in these moments of suffering that we have forgotten that we are the architects of our own reality and we have the power to change our dream if we choose.

Turning the other cheek does not mean standing by while the enemies of God dismantle Christian civilization and brainwash our children. Decrying the cowardice that masquerades as meekness, Eric Metaxas summons the Church to battle. An attenuated and unbiblical “faith” based on what Bonhoeffer called “cheap grace” has sapped the spiritual vitality of millions of Americans. Paying lip service to an insipid “evangelism,” they shrink from combating the evils of our time. Metaxas refutes the pernicious lie that fighting evil politicizes Christianity.

Story
The secret to happiness is to acknowledge and transform suffering, not to run away from it. Here, Thich Nhat Hanh offers practices and inspiration transforming suffering and finding true joy. Thich Nhat Hanh acknowledges that because suffering can feel so bad, we try to run away from it or cover it up by consuming. We find something to eat or turn on the television. But unless we’re able to face our suffering, we can’t be present and available to life, and happiness will continue to elude us.

Story
The Qur'an, believed by Muslims to be the word of God, was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad 1,400 years ago. It is the supreme authority in Islam and the living source of all Islamic teaching; it is a sacred text and a book of guidance that sets out the creed, rituals, ethics, and laws of the Islamic religion. It has been one of the most influential books in the history of literature. Recognized as the greatest literary masterpiece in Arabic, it has nevertheless remained difficult to understand in its English translations.

Great compile of exercises! Best in Audible format.
Love how he pauses on audible to let the exercises sink in. Maybe a coincidence, but with the audio, I'm noticing my stories dropping away into awareness quickly. Grateful for the compile. Thanks a lot Loch Kelly, from the bottom of the dimensionless heart ❤️

powerful and transformative
following these excercises over and over again, and integrating them in you daily life can be very transformative, especially for seasoned, more advanced meditators, and I cannot recommend this enough. Loch is a kind, gentle and very skillful guide, and just letting go and diving deep into this material can have amazing and profound effects, but this one must experience for him or herself, words cannot contain this. if you are a serious follower of the way, then this is what you've been looking for, this stuff is the real deal. Thank you Loch, with much respect and grattitude!

Simple, Profound, & Liberating.
What other book might you compare Shift into Freedom to and why?
I would compare Loch's "Shift Into Freedom" with Eckhart Tolle's "The Power of Now" and Michael Singer's "Untethered Soul." Like those books, Loch's perspective redirects our awareness to the potential immediacy and all-pervasiveness of our freedom. Yet unlike those books, Loch is able to provide the listener with a variety of unique practices that help us tune into subtler dimensions of consciousness that are already awake, peaceful, accepting, and wise.

Easy to learn and profound
These glimpse practices provide straight forward and effective means to awaken, embody, and live from awareness. The approach is actually easier to learn in my experience than more mainstream forms of meditation or mindfulness yields more and deeper positive outcomes.
