Publisher's summary

The book of Enoch was thought to be lost for over 2,000 years until, in 1773, a traveller brought three copies back from Ethiopia. Whether or not this ancient book was actually authored by Enoch, the father of Methuselah and great-grandfather of Noah, is an ongoing debate among historians and theologians. But all recognise the book of Enoch as one of the most important apocalyptic works outside of the Bible. This 1917 translation by R. H. Charles is professionally narrated by Christopher Glyn and aims to provide those who are curious to know the contents of this cryptic and mysterious book with an enjoyable way to do so.

Giving me the knowledge I did not know.

This was a very good listen. I did not know of the book of Enoch, but now I have a better understanding of God.

Spellbound!

I love Christopher's voice. You forget he's reading and just get into the AMAZING content of this book!! There is such overlap with the Book of Daniel and the Book of Revelation. It's mind boggling the Plan was there since the beginning!

Further Information

Scholars divide what is called "The Book of Enoch" into three "Books of Enoch," since they seem to have distinct authorial styles. First Enoch, aka "The Book of the Watchers" (chapters 1-36), Second Enoch, aka "Book of the Parables/Similitudes of Enoch" (ch. 37-71), Third Enoch, aka "The Astronomical Book/Book of Luminaries" (ch. 72-82).

This audiobook contains all three-something I had to troll Amazon Reviews to discover.

The voice is easy to listen to, and I like it especially because it mimics the style of the KJV, which I grew up using as my primary English Bible.

Be advised, however, this audiobook is the RH Charles edition, and academically a hundred years out-of-date (which explains the inexpensive cost-it is public domain). If you, like me, are listening to this for its KJV-compatibility, consider also downloading a newer-Enoch-translation audiobook which deals more accurately with the source languages.
