I have been a smoker for 11 years and tried to quit many times. There are many good tips in this book but unless you are listening to it constantly it is very hard to actually quit using this book alone. It helped me cut back but I could not quit entirely based on the advice in this book. It DID get me to think a lot about quitting and realize how much I wanted to quit and I don't regret listening to it. It also made me hold myself accountable for quitting and not push blame on others or make excuses for smoking. Listening to this book and trying it did put me in the right state of mind to actually quit, but it wasn't until I combined some of that mentality with nicotine replacement therapy (which the book advises against) was I able to actually quit cigarettes 100%.
"excellent book well worth the read ."
addressed all the implications around smoking and has suggested I will read again .
"Well it worked for me"
I gave up smoking May 2013 using this audiobook (over a year). I have tried everything and it hasnt worked. Now it may have been partly due to other things (youtube vids, gritted teeth etc) but I think this book was the deal clincher!
Bit like Allen Carr but i preferred Gillian everyday of the week!
Not bad - very listenable
What a drag - 20 years of smoking,,,
It is no magic cure - read it, and re-read until you feel ready to quit - good luck
"Good for those too lazy to read"
Got this for my boyfriend who would never have read the book & it did work for a while, but he has gone back to his old ways.
That said, I think it is more about him than the book or it's techniques as it was more me that wanted him to give up than him wanting it himself.
"Don't waste your money!"
It still makes you use willpower! Using willpower is difficult! Read Easyway Allen Carr! It's the only way !
No! You need to understand nicotine addiction and the brainwashing! This book told me to keep cigarettes on me once I had stopped this means using willpower to resist!! If you wanted to stop eating chocolate would you carry a bar of galaxy round with you? Also going on about "the desire to smoke" smoking is nicotine addiction and once you understand nicotine addiction and realise the reasons you smoke are illusions you will find it easy! Allen Carrs Easyway does just this and it makes it easy to stop and you don't have to use willpower to "remove the disire to smoke"
None it makes you feel you're making a sacrifice! You're NOT!
If you're gonna buy a book make it EASYWAY!
