There’s something out there: a juggernaut of evil bearing down to crush the Republic - unless one lone Jedi, shunned and reviled, can stop it.
Revan: hero, traitor, conqueror, villain, savior. A Jedi who left Coruscant to defeat Mandalorians -and returned a disciple of the dark side, bent on destroying the Republic. The Jedi Council gave Revan his life back, but the price of redemption was high. His memories have been erased. All that’s left are nightmares - and deep, abiding fear.
What exactly happened beyond the Outer Rim? Revan can’t quite remember, yet can’t entirely forget. Somehow he stumbled across a terrible secret that threatens the very existence of the Republic. With no idea what it is, or how to stop it, Revan may very well fail, for he’s never faced a more powerful and diabolic enemy. But only death can stop him from trying.

I enjoyed listening to this story, but agree with other reviews that the tale of Regan is missing something. not enough of the story focused on him for my taste and I wanted more.
Horrors Hospice Nurse
the voice acting was great. all of the characters pretty much sound the way you think they would. the part of the story dealing with Revan and his search was great. when it starts to shift Focus towards the end it kind of lost my interest.
I believe Revan's story would make a much better movie then the starwar's movies they are coming out with now. He has all the character traits that make him much like a Japanese horror movie.
Revan is about the 7th Star Wars novel I've read and it seems that each book is better than the last. However, because of my connection to the characters in this particular story via the video games KOTOR 1 & 2, this novel which was written beautifully, will always have a special place in my heart.
Meetra was delegated to a weak follower. Masterful performance by Marc Thompson, but he could have researched the pronunciaron of the names better. Good ending to Revan's story, bar ending for Meetra.
I'm not a gamer, so I was unfamiliar with "The Old Republic" game. I have enjoyed the Star Wars books, and I love the audiobook versions. The production is outstanding, expert narration combined with music and sound effects makes Star Wars audiobooks exceptional entertainment. While this is not my first Star Wars audiobook, it is the first with Marc Thompson narrating. Personally, I'm partial to British narrators, Daniel Davis did an exceptional job with Darth Plageus. However, Marc Thompson really brings depth, passion and an incredible array of voices to this performance that makes it easy to follow various characters. I can see why so many enjoy his narrations, he is incredible. Revan was an interesting premise with a good story. I'm doing the Old Republic in order, so I wanted to get a feel for the author's work. Drew is a good writer. I'm really looking forward to the Darth Bane series after I finish this 4 book series. A great production!
"fantastic loved it"
Was told to listen to starwars revan and after putting it off for a while decided to ... wow must read
"Nice story loved the voices"
loved the story and the effects the voices from each character was really good a must get audio book if u are a star wars fan :-)
"Your powers are weak Re-van"
I would listen to SWTOR again because I am a Star Wars fanatic and love to learn as much as I can about the Star Wars universe.
I enjoyed this book, it added a new dimension to my knowledge and experience of the Star Wars universe. I was concerned that there might have been hordes of new characters and planets to get to grips with but pleasantly I was not overwhelmed.Admittedly the plot isn't the greatest in the world and the sound effects are a little cursory in places rather than adding to the experience, but I did enjoy it and recommend it to anyone who's a fan of the franchise.
Absolutely awesome and epic possibly the best star wars story I've ever Listened
I recommend this for everyone
"It was a great story with excellent narration!"
It was a very interesting story especially if you have enjoyed the Knights of the old republic games. The narration was near perfect. Women's voices sometimes sound a little comical but that is to be expected. Other than that it was excellent narration. Thoroughly enjoyed the audio book and have already downloaded the second in the series.
This was about absolutely compelling listen expertly read. The addition of background noise fitting the scene of what's going on was a great addition to the immersion to allow the reader/listener to draw a picture of the scene. The revelation of what happened to Revan after KOTOR has always intrigued me and reignited my love for the series.
If you haven't already read or listened to this its a must for any Star Wars Knights of the old Republic fan as it finishes the story of the two characters from the games. You won't be disappointed with this book
First Audiobook I have downloaded from Audible.
Suprisingly Lord Scourge steals the show with an interesting story arc, an unexpectedly three dimensional character.
Fans of Knights of the old republic and the sequel will appreciate the bridging of the two games and padding of the lore. With a bittersweet story, strong characters and immersive world this is well worth a listen.
"A particular taste"
The writing is good enough for a casual 'beach listen' style but don't think about it too much. It is an entertaining listen for any Star Wars fans but probably won't hang together as an ordinary scifi listen if you aren't a Star Wars fan.
The production of the audio book is much more in the style of a dramatisation with sound effects etc.I'm not sure how I feel about that really.
Altough I didn't knew Revan, reading this book while playing Star Wars the old republic proved helpful.
I got to know the history of how the emperor came to power, some knowledge about the planets like Dromund Kaas, history about the mandalorians, etc...
The book is very action and lightsaber fight oriented. I didn't find it dull at all.
The narrator was excellent comparing to other audio books, I especially liked all the StarWars FX'es in the book. The sound of explosions, lightsabers, starwars soundtracks, background humming etc made it great.
My review would probably been different would it not have been an audio book and would I not be playing the new MMORPG StarWars the old republic.
