There’s something out there: a juggernaut of evil bearing down to crush the Republic - unless one lone Jedi, shunned and reviled, can stop it.
Revan: hero, traitor, conqueror, villain, savior. A Jedi who left Coruscant to defeat Mandalorians -and returned a disciple of the dark side, bent on destroying the Republic. The Jedi Council gave Revan his life back, but the price of redemption was high. His memories have been erased. All that’s left are nightmares - and deep, abiding fear.
What exactly happened beyond the Outer Rim? Revan can’t quite remember, yet can’t entirely forget. Somehow he stumbled across a terrible secret that threatens the very existence of the Republic. With no idea what it is, or how to stop it, Revan may very well fail, for he’s never faced a more powerful and diabolic enemy. But only death can stop him from trying.

I literally liked everything about this game, the new and old characters, the new and old locations, it really feels like Star Wars. What I liked the most though, is Revan, it really did justice to the character, unlike SWTOR. I'd recommend this to any Star Wars fan, especially The Old Republic ones. Amazing read, and especially amazing and almost unbelievable ending.
this story is about the later part of Revan's life were a novel about him vs Malak or the Mandalorians would hsve been much mor appropruate. you only see Revan get defeated like a worm through most of this book. very slow and not in a good way. this book would be ok if there was a second one or third in a series to follow up but it just ends in a massive bummer of a cliff hangerish ending with no follow up. you can skip this book with no real problems what so ever. and I'm getting tired of the narrators voices. all women sound either russian or old and on their death bed gasping for breath.
I loved this book. I've been wishing to learn more about the Star Wars universe and this is an amazing introduction to the universe between Star Wars: The Old Republic and Knights of the Old Republic.
I'm a huge Old Republic dork and an even bigger Revan fanboy. This does not do the character I know and love the justice he deserves. The story itself overall is fine. The voice performance is pretty good. But for starters there is more focus and character arc on Darth Scourge, who is pretty bad ass in his own regard, but I didn't go into the
Marc Thompson did a wonderful job portraying all of the different voices in this book. The way they added music and sound effects into the background really make the experience much more enjoyable. There were a couple name that he did not pronounce correctly like Bastilla and the Ebon Hawk, but it wasn't too bad. If there is anybody that enjoyed the "Knights of the Old Republic" games and wants to know what happens to all the characters afterwards. This is the book for you
This is a great book, especially for not playing Kotor 1/2 or SWTOR. I loved this entire book all up until the end. I won't spoil it. Just know, that without having any prior knowledge of revan, especially without playing the games, the end is really disappointing and very annoying.
"Best star wars book"
One of the most interesting star wars books I have listened to. Listened twice already.
"My favourite Star Wars novel i've read/listened to"
Enjoyed this more than any Star Wars novel i've listened to or read, great to finally find out what happened to Revan after the events of Knights Of The Old Republic videogame, a welcome addition was also the inclusion of other characters from the videogames. I'd recommend this as a standalone novel also as it does explain past events but any person who has played the games will benefit from the book or enjoy it more in my opinion. The narrator does an excellent job, especially his depiction of Sith Lord Skurge who is one of the main characters in the book. My only reason for giving 4 stars and not 5 for performance is my slightly picky opinion that they should use a female narrator for female parts although I know this is very rare.
"This is the best thing ever!"
Awesome!, Vivacious and Powerful.
The story of course! (Also the narration of the author)
Marc Thompson actually made me visualize the area, persons, actions, voices, appearances and actually all of it. It was like watching a movie.
Yes, actually! Some parts made me laugh, some surprised me and also a lot of parts shocked me.
Every Star Wars fan has to read this book. I find the Story of the Old Republic better then the movies.
"Not the best Star Wars novel, but still good."
A little misleading; I was expecting DARTH Revan. But still a good story.
Marc Thompson is excellent and a very good voice actor.
The production was amazing too, complete with music and sound effects. Somewhere between a narration and performance!
"Brilliant story (better if youve played the games)"
Simply put this book is brilliant, great voices, great story, great characters, If you like the Revan storyline from Kotor you will love this. 10/10
emperor voice was a bit OTT i am now just writing words to make up the quota on this review
Simply put this is a great book. It is narrated well, with a fantastic accompanying soundtrack and well timed sound effects to help draw you into the storyline. However, where it really exceeds is its relation to the rest of the Old Republic era. If you're a fan of the KotOR and Old Republic games and accompanying novels then this is a must!
"Fantastic continuation of the KOTOR story."
Really immersive with the sound effects and voice acting. a great way to round off the experience of playing through both of the games.
"an enjoyable audiobook with a good story"
voice of over was good and the story engaging. is there any of the books that follow-on from this one pick up where it left off?
amazed by the depth and forsight of both sides of the force and where it has taken its ocupants!
