Accountant turned professional monster hunter Owen Zastava Pitt managed to stop the nefarious Old Ones' invasion plans last year, but as a result made an enemy out of one of the most powerful beings in the universe. Now an evil death cult known as the Church of the Temporary Mortal Condition wants to capture Owen in order to gain the favor of the great Old Ones. The Condition is led by a fanatical necromancer known as the Shadow Man. The government wants to capture the Shadow Man and has assigned the enigmatic Agent Franks to be Owen's full-time bodyguard, which is a polite way of saying that Owen is monster bait.
With supernatural assassins targeting his family, a spy in their midst, and horrific beasties lurking around every corner, Owen and the staff of Monster Hunter International don't need to go hunting, because this time the monsters are hunting them. Fortunately, this bait is armed and very dangerous.

"This lighthearted, testosterone-soaked sequel to 2009's Monster Hunter International will delight fans of action horror with elaborate weaponry, hand-to-hand combat, disgusting monsters, and an endless stream of blood and body parts." (Publishers Weekly)
Definitly the character dynamics, and non stop action
Colin, a natural born underdog and scrapper.
Colins reunion with Julie, after going through that they both deserve medals
This was my favorite of the three Monster Hunter books I've listened to so far. (Yes, I know it's second in the series but I listened to this after book 3.) It got a bit much in the last 30 minutes or so but otherwise I loved it. The first book had very long action scenes. I like the descriptive detail but they got to be a little long. This book had action but those scenes were, for the most part, no so long that I felt tired afterward.
Narrator was great and does a good job with women's voices - doesn't make them sound like whiny school girls like some male narrators do.
Currently a local truck driver who has hours to listen to my audio books. I am hooked, some of my fellow drivers enjoy them also
The cast of characters are an interesting bunch of misfits with alot of action
Both Owen and Earl are great
Mr Wyman does a great job on all of the characters Owen is the best
The big battle was edge of the seat stuff
Keep up the good work Looking forward to reading more of your books
I have not even been able to get thru the first chapter. It is not holding my interest.
I will continue to listen to this for a little while longer to see if it catches my attention. I hope it changes soon or I will stop completely.
It doesn't hold my attention. First time by this author & Narrator.
Mom to Muppet Fans
Oliver Wyman does an outstanding job of changing voices for character. Larry Correia creates characters that you you can relate to, and storylines that keep you guessing! Love the whole series so far!
Lover of books and fictions reads.
Uber Awesome Explosions!
Owen Z Pitt, cause while he's a kickass monster hunter, he's still has that accounting skills he could fall back to later in life. I like practical people like that. I love how practical he is.
Undoubtedly the time travel scene.
LAughS! I really did not expect that. I bought the book because it was on sale. Never regret a moment!
As a rule, I don't read books with vampires in them until I had read Dracula (which I haven't yet) out of some book snob reason. I figure if the vampires are being shot/hacked to pieces, it didn't count. Yeah.
Also, I like how the characters approached problems with extreme prejudice and prefer to pile odds onto their favour rather than leaving things to chance and waiting for a 'Saviour' to save them. Caugh*HarryPotter*Caugh
If Z had been a character in the Potter world, well he would have given D the finger and bye, bye V-mot
Extreme Prejudice is sometimes a good thing.
I was really pleased with my decision to continue with the second book of this series.
Great sense of action and humor is shown in this and the other two books - and I'm excited that there is a 4th one now.
I think these would be pretty good movie material on the level of something like Hellboy.
Wyman really makes the very tightly written characters to life as they were meant to be.
Entertaining all around.
I thought the first book was phenomenal and did not think he could top it. I was wrong! Both books are worth the cost. Actually could not wait for my monthly credits and paid full price for this one and MH Alpha. Dont regret doing it. My only regret is not picking these up sooner. Looking forward to his next book later this month! I know where my credits are going to!!!
The human terminator
If Tarzan was adopted by a survivalist family and had to learn how to fight monsters, this could be his story. Lol.
He does a very good job of giving the listener a feeling for the characters.
Rambo fights Dracula.
A fun story winding around a very well thought out structure.
