absolutely great fun

this book had enough twists and turns to make it truly enjoyable. there were surprises at every turn.

Better as you go.

An enjoyable listen for pulpy action fun. Like the last book you feel like you are near the end but then realize you have six more hours to go. The reveal is a bit forced but good enough for the story.

I enjoy the series and look forward to reading the rest, It is a great change of adventure
with a great set of charactors and plot twist

Not many others to compare it to it is kind of a unique adventure story with action and emotional ups and downs

What does Oliver Wyman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He is a great reader I enjoy his many talents and look forward to listening to him again

My favorite so far

I love these books, and they seem to just get better. Oliver Wyman does a fantastic job with the narration.

This is the story of Harbinger.

Would you listen to Monster Hunter Alpha again? Why?

The story is tight with no repeats of ANY of the previous novels.
Larry has really a very creative, rational, flexible mind.
Corrupt MCB agents, a resourceful townsfolk, a she-werewolf with a crush on Harbinger, a russian psycho-werewolf with two personalities (like Joe Ledger): all of them.
And no MHI at all. Surprising.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Monster Hunter Alpha?

The funniest moments: like when Harbinger tries to smoke without renegerative lungs and claims: "These things could kill me now!" Duh.
Heather kissing Harbinger. That was unexpected. And Nikolai surrendering to Harbinger.

Which scene was your favorite?

Harbinger realizing he had bitten a Singer who was carrying a human child and who now had the Curse.
Rocky stole some of the worst and best memories.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Laugh at sudden moments and made me lose control of the car more than once.
Do NOT listen to it in traffic.

The narrator is brilliant.

Enjoyable sci-fi saga

What was one of the most memorable moments of Monster Hunter Alpha?

When a newly "infected" werewolf gets really excited about the idea of being able to eat all the pie she wants withoutfear of gaining weight.

Great character voices overall, but not sure why the Russian werewolf sounds like Chistopher Walken. Picky point, and overall very enjoyable recording.

The new point of view. Earls story is super interesting.

Earl. Especially when he kills the luscus.

Excellent series, read all of them! When you're done with MHI series, read his other books too.

All Harbinger. All werewolves. All good.

At first I was a bit disappointed when I realized book was ALL about Harbinger, werewolves and virtually nothing about MHI. Z and Julie is mentioned in passing a couple of times, but that's it.

But when the story got going I was hooked. A smaller gallery of characters and all of the story taking place in one area, actually made for a tight story. I liked it. A lot! New characters is very interesting.

Narration is great but Wyman sometimes starts sentences with a short sharp intake of breath. Mildly annoying.

All in all a great listen. Will buy the next one in the series.

Good, A Little Different

This book is a little different from the lady two in the series. This one hardly even mentions Owen Pitt, instead focusing on Earl Harbinger.
