funny and smart...

ill admit I wasnt expecting too much from this book. I really enjoyed the first 2 but not so much the 3rd. I decided to give the series one more chance and am glad I did. There was much more action and some loose ends ties up as well. The characters seem to finally be evolving whereas in the 3rd book I felt nothing really happened. The main character, Charlie, is smart, funny and almost a little too quick with the come backs. Reyes is hot, sexy and stubborn and I love Charlies best friend..Hoping to see more of the bikers in the next book!

Who was your favorite character and why?

In general I enjoy all of the characters. Angel, the 13 yr old gangbanger, is always one of my favorite characters. I love that he has stuck around to watch over his mother. Quintin, a new addition in this book, shows promise of becoming one of my new favorite side characters. He is sweet and sure to be a great supporting member of Charlie's entourage.

Which character – as performed by Lorelei King – was your favorite?

Tough one. Lorelei King is a terrific narrator, in my opinion. I think in this book, Cookie and Aunt Lillian might be my favorite performances. While I always love Charlie and Reyes, I have trouble NOT thinking of Stephanie and Merolli from the Stephanie Plum books since I listened to all of those too and they have the same narrator.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, and I did!!!

This series keeps getting hotter

Every new Charley Davidson story seems better than the last as more secrets are revealed. It's like a sexy, sarcastic onion.

Great series

This series just keeps getting better and better! Charley is still recovering from Earl Walkers attack by TV shopping. But she finally gets a case from a woman being tormented since she was a child! No one believes her. Terrific!

Great Read

Every one of these books has kept me pinned. The storyline is wonderful and the humor is fantastic.

AS SOON AS I HIT 'PLAY' I WAS TOTALLY ENTHRALLED!!

When you can happily go without sleep and even contemplate missing mealtimes then that's when you realise just how a great listen can affect your life. Every single word that was penned by Ms Jones was done with such skilled precision that there wasn't one wasted.

I thought books 1, 2 and 3 were good but this one, well it was just awesome - I only wish Audible had a special star rating for such well written book like this one. Every chapter was entertaining, funny, tense and quick witted and within them every paragraph held great characters ready to entertain and enthrall you in an amazing plot that has more twists and turns than a roller coaster.

I also found the tee shirt and bumper sticker jokes at the start of each paragraph really funny.

Worth a credit? Oh YES and more....... for her next book Fifth Grave Past The Light released in July 2013, I'm afraid I'm prepared to sell my Grandmother on ebay!

Awesome Series

Let me just say, i have never laughed while reading a book as with this series.
Other than the story is amazing and the characters are unique, the jokes and the naming of every single body part of her is amazing... loved that she named her scull and her brain as well.

I had this series in my wish list for couple of months, and i saw the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th book being released and then i bought the first one.... damn i shouldn't have done that... i thought it was going to be a repeat to other books and so on.... but no this is an awesome book and a 10X Awesome series.

my new favorite series

I love Janet Evanovich and the Stephanie Plum novels and if you love them too then you're going to love darynda Jones and the Charley Davidson series. these books have everything from the Paranormal to romance to Comedy to drama to suspense.
I absolutely love Lorelei King narration and all of the different voices she comes up with for all those zany characters in this series ...Aunt Lil is one of my favorites and so is Cookie.
if you do not fall in love with this series and it's cast of characters there is definitely something wrong with you

Best last line ever!

I love Lorelei King reading these books! She has spoiled me and I don't even want to read them to myself. This book has an enjoyable plot and leaves so many
possibilities for the next book. Charlie is even more entertaining than she was in the first book. Sorry I don't want to give anything away but naming her couch had me laughing all day!
