Publisher's summary

A renowned rake, Cameron Mackenzie doesn't care if Ainsley Douglas has a virtuous excuse for sneaking around his bedchamber. He only cares that she's at his mercy. One kiss at a time, he plans to seduce her. But what starts out as a lusty diversion may break Cam's own rules.

Was it the kiss or her loyalty that attracted him?

One kiss, a refusal and six years later, he was still intrigued. At least one barrier was removed, so could she, would she.
He carried a lot of secrets, but then so did she. Could they see past the anguish of betrayal by others, to make a go off it together?
I know the answers, because I read (listened to ) the book. I suggest you will get much enjoyment from the author's rendition of the tale, than my cut down version.
It's well worth the time and effort.

The second time in 10 years, I gave it a listen

Both times were fun, charming and new again….
I would listen to Angela Dawe no matter what she narrates…..

Favorite Brother in the Series

First Thought when Finished: The Many Sins of Lord Cameron was delightfully wicked and emotionally gut-wrenching at the same time!

Overall Thoughts: I think it is clear by now that I am just plowing through this series. I am so in love with it! It is dark, sexy, and wonderfully written. Cameron though is my favorite brother (I can say that successfully now that I have read all 4 + the Christmas Novella). He is damaged, sexy, wicked, and does the biggest bastard to HEA turn in the series. I was rooting for him every step of the way and really only Ainsley could have brought him to his knees. He needed someone who could go toe-to-toe with him and not back down. He also needed someone who could work though his particular damage (it was extensive) and be patient with the quirks that brought to his personality. This also makes me wonder how his son (Daniel--first marriage) will turn out. I can't wait to read his book because he is dealing with some his father's baggage too. *sigh* This was just fantastic!

Audio Thoughts:

Narrated By Angela Dawe / Length: 9 hrs and 8 mins

Angela pulled of Cam and Ainsley with a precision that made me smile. I am really enjoying her narration of this series.

Final Thoughts: I don't know what I will do when I catch up! Probably try her shifter series LOL

Quote Jar

The count said in careful English, "That was perhaps not, as you English say, very sporting."

"Games are played to win," Cameron said. "And we're Scottish.”

I still love the series!

I dont' have much words to say as Im speechless....but I can say this, it's worth reading it! The story is enticing, keeps you tuned, not wanting to put it down :) I love how Jen Ash keeps bringing the other brothers in family reunions...because I hate reading a book with so many characteres, but down the road they just vanish from the story. Yes, she's telling the story of the one brother Lord Cameron, but all the other brothers and wives are still very active together... in my mind, just like a family is supposed to be! :)

And Angela keeps doing a good job with her narration....I did notice that at some parts when she's narrating a conversation between 2+ she differs the voices.... however, if she's narrating just one... she has a fave voice or something.... for both male and female. BUT, by no means it interferes with her performance....I'm just a very detailed person.. that's all....

All in all.... Im excited about reading the next one!

DARE YOU NOT TO LOVE THE MACKENSIE MEN

Where does The Many Sins of Lord Cameron rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

At the top. The series is amazing. Jennifer Ashley's writing, imagination, storylines, and character development are stellar. It is noticable that she has done her research on that period. This is not a "cookie cutter" historical romance, nor are the other books in this series.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Many Sins of Lord Cameron?

The entire interaction between Cam and Ainsley - especially when they discover "LOVE"

What about Angela Dawe’s performance did you like?

She is perfect for this series. I enjoy her performances.

Great listen! Enjoy this historical romance!

Would you consider the audio edition of The Many Sins of Lord Cameron to be better than the print version?

Angela Dawe brings life to the characters, somehow even managing to distinguish voices of the 4 Mackenzie brothers and other minor characters. How she can come up with 7 or more different male Scottish voices, I will never know!

Please listen to the series in order, and you will enjoy it more. The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie and The Scandalous Marriage of Lady Isabella come first. Angela Dawe reads those too!

What other book might you compare The Many Sins of Lord Cameron to and why?

Maya Banks Scottish Romances. Hot men, headstrong women, great setting.

What does Angela Dawe bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Her read brings to mind the era, the various classes of people that were so prevalent in that time period in England. You can hear the dialogue brought to life.

Any additional comments?

Great series!

Great read but bad listen..

If you could sum up The Many Sins of Lord Cameron in three words, what would they be?

Great Mackenzie family.

What did you like best about this story?

How close the family is.

Would you be willing to try another one of Angela Dawe’s performances?

I will listen to Hart's story but I'll have to listen to it at 1.25 speed on my iPad. It's the only way to get past Ms. Dawe's hesitation when she read.

Any additional comments?

This was a really good book but the narration leaves a lot to be desired. Once I finish this series I will never listen to another book narrated by Ms. Dawe.

Another of the scandalous Mackenzies

Setting: Scotland, France, Monaco, and England 1882-83
Genre: Romance
This novel follows the story of Cameron, the second to oldest of the 4 brothers. He is a beautiful, scarred man. There are rumors that he murdered his wife, even though his brother Hart, Duke of Kilmorgen stood as witness (because everyone knows that those Mackenzie’s will lie, cheat, and steal for one another, so what’s covering up a murder, right?) He is a horse trainer with a teenage son. He has vowed never to marry again and concentrates on short-term affairs with bored, married society women, living a debauched life whenever he isn’t actively working with the horses.
Ainsley Douglas had met Cam once, 6 years ago, when he caught her picking the lock of his bedside table. She was on a mission to get back property for a friend, an ex-lover of Cam’s. He tempted her then to start an affair, but she remained loyal to her husband, though he is 30 years older than she. Now she is the widow and is in service to the queen. Once again she has a task to complete, and once again Cam finds her in his bedroom. There is intrigue involving stolen letters and blackmail. Ainsley, with her unique set of skills (she got quite good at picking locks and stealing cakes while at boarding school) has been sent to get the letters back. There are still sparks between Cameron and Ainsley. A lot of sparks. But will Ainsley risk leaving the queen for an affair with a rakehell Mackenzie?
As usual, Jennifer Ashley has written fine story. The grammar and usage are great, the dialogue helps move the story along, and the characters are well-rounded. Cameron isn’t my favorite hero in the MacKenzie/McBride series. He supposedly has All this angst, but aside from being a man ho and refusing to share a bed, it isn’t expressed well. Ainsley is one of my favorite heroines in the series. She’s strong, and though she has some issues from her past, she steps beyond them.
As for the audio, Angela Dawe gives such a good performance in this series. She gives all the characters their own distinct voice, and she keeps them straight throughout. And there are a lot of characters.

Mesmerizing and Breathtaking!

I love this story from start to finish. The whole series just reels you in and leaves you craving more. I love how unique each characters story is and how it is not just your normal run of the mill romance. Between Jennifer Ashley's beautiful story and Angela's beautiful voice this story is very much brought to life and i hope to see more.
