Publisher's Summary

Toni Langston has been in love with Simon, her best friend, for years. The night Simon breaks up with his longtime girlfriend, he and Toni make love. Toni is devastated and humiliated when, in the heat of the moment, he calls her by his girlfriend’s name. The next morning, Simon remembers nothing of the previous night and Toni is only too relieved not to remind him.

Two months later, she discovers she’s pregnant. She wants Simon to love her, apart from any obligation he might feel because of the baby. So she embarks on a quest to seduce her best friend, to make him see her as more than a little sister, to make him love her as much as she loves him. It works. Maybe too well. Now when things are perfect, she faces telling him of the secret she’s kept.

    "Good, Simple Romance...HORRIBLE narration"
Would you listen to Seducing Simon again? Why?

Yes, if someone else was doing the narration. The story was just a straight forward romance. No mysteries to solve, no evil characters hanging around--just a "let's listen to this and enjoy" kind of story. Sometimes it is just nice to listen to an "easy" listen.

What did you like best about this story?

The relationship between all the characters--not just Simon and Toni. These four individuals has made a true family for themselves and it was fun to listen to the interplay between them all.

How could the performance have been better?

Get a different narrator. When I listen to my audiobooks, I like to be able to distinguish between the different people in the story. This narrator used almost the same voices for all the characters...male, female, young or old. AND when the story calls for someone to yell or get angry or upset, it would be nice for the narrator to at least change the tone of the narration....It was all the same drab thing...Happy, angry, crying, scared...never a change in the tone . Unbelievably bad!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Some of the scenes were funny. Some of the reactions to how Toni would act or look...that was pretty funny

"For a Banks book, this was ok to fairly good."

I think I just have such high expectations for every single Maya Banks book I read/listen to after listening to the Sweet Series and McCabe Clan Series. This was simply ok to fairly good. There were great moments, but then there were boring moments. The plot line was good, but at times, I was like Toni should have just told Simone about the baby already... but no... Secrets Secrets! The ending was a bit dramatic… but I like the HEA ending.

Ok narration. There really isn't a difference in male voices or female voices. The narrator more so read it not narrated it... if that makes sense... It was still decent though.

Credit... not a Maya Banks gotta have must buy! Maybe even a sale.

"SECRETS, SECRETS, SECRETS THEY BLOW UP EVERY TIME"

Please don't go buying this expecting it to be the usual HOT listen that Maya Banks usually writes (and the cover suggests) as it's definitely not - it's more Mills & Boon.

But what it is is a tender, sweet, riveting romantic book about the dilema of unrequited love which include secrets, seduction and hope as two best friends take a gamble of crossing the boundary of friendship hoping it will lead to love but aware they could lose everything. Another well written MB book (just without any heat!) and, as it unfolds, you understand the emotions of both the main likeable characters involved and find yourself pondering over the all important question of should she tell him and exactly when would the right time be.

You'll laugh, cry and sigh as their turbulent emotionally and sexually charged relationship grips you, then events and a disaster spins you about until, in the end, you're spat out the other end breathless, exhausted but grateful for another great listen.

Worth a credit? Well it falls under my $10 rule, so my dilemma is if it was $19.77 instead of $9.77 would I regret the credit - no I wouldn't but I would have liked/expected it to have been longer and to include either the addition of her usual spice, or a final chapter or epilogue that not only wraps up the HEA but puts a nice big pink or blue bow on top.

"I did not like this book"

This book was not very good. It was very unrealistic and the reader sounds like Siri, very robotic. I have listened to over 30 books and this is the first disappointment I have found

"OMG Maya, this book was BORING......."
Would you try another book from Maya Banks and/or Rebecca Estrella?

I've read Maya Banks before and was sorely disappointed but I would try her novels again.

Has Seducing Simon turned you off from other books in this genre?

    not yet

How could the performance have been better?

the narrater was very monotone and didn't help the story at all. maybe she found it as boring as I did and that's how she sounded...... bored /c:

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

    it was mercifully short.

    Any additional comments?

Just don't do it. Maya has so many other books that are really good.

    "One Of My Favorite Read"

I absolutely love Maya Banks she is one of my favorite authors and to date none of her books have ever disappointed me. I have all of her stories on my kindle. But slowly adding audiobooks to my collection so i can listen to them on the go. This was great to listen too and the narrator did an awezome job. Now on to the next read on my list.

If you love romance this is a must add to you TBR List.

"Not sure I like this side of Maya"

I've read several Maya Banks romantic suspense novels and absolutely LOVE her KGI series. I'm not certain going sweet is her best writing if this book is a good example of it. I was a bit disappointed because she's an extraordinary writer and, although this would have been decent for a lot of other authors; her work is usually way superior to this

"Much More My Style Than A Lot of Maya Banks"

Simon has been Toni's brother's best friend and for as long as she could remember she has had a crush on him. Now, they are all sharing a house with another male roommate (four people in the same house). They 3 guys all treat her like the kid sister that she is to her older brother.

One night Simon comes home obviously smashed and cursing out his girlfriend's existence in all the profanity he knows. When he looked up, there was Toni. She asked what happened and he tells her. After a few more drinks, Toni follows him to his bedroom to talk and hopefully comfort him.

After a bit, she cannot handle herself, her feelings and the electricity that is flying between the two of them. She kisses him and that is all it takes! Toni slowly undresses him and he undresses her. They embrace and things go 'all the way.' Toni is embarrassed, hurt and devastated when at Simon's climax he hollers his ex-girlfriend's name. That was enough to get Toni scurrying away from his bed as fast as she could.

In the morning she awaits the awkward follow up, but it is not what she expected. Simon comes down and thanks Toni for being a listening ear and a shoulder to cry on. Apparently, all her worry about the intimate evening had been blocked out by his alcohol stupor. Good news! How hard would it be for him to have to apologize, especially for calling out his ex-girlfriend's name while making love to her. Now, they can continue with the ease of their great friendship and loyalty to one another, as she has with her brother and their other roommates.

Well, not all things go as planned and she finds out that she is pregnant. She is only been with one person…

Now the shenanigans really start to happen living with three protective males, one of whom you are carrying his child!

Well Simon catch on to her seduction? When will she find the nerve to explain the awkward way in which she became pregnant? How will he react?

I really enjoyed this book. My last couple of Maya Banks choices did not grab me, but I think that they were some of her earlier works. She has a three book series I'm waiting every moment for to be released. So she has definitely improved her craft or gotten better editors. Whatever it is, I'll take it!

Rebecca Estrella is a narrator that I just can't figure out. If I listened to her on regular speed I want to stab sharp objects in my ears, as it is so slow. However, when I speed up x2 its fine. I actually found Seducing Simon by the narrator check search so I am happy that I followed up with her. I just need to remember to speed her up.

Notes: mature scenes, strong language suitable for 18 years and older

    "BORING!!!"

Let me start by saying that I love Maya Banks, her books are normally awesome, but this one did not make the cut.....The narrator didn't make the book work, she made it WORSE, this book had such good reviews, i dont know how?...did not feel a spark between Tony and Simon,,,, Tony was very very frustrating and dramatic, Simon did not have that spark either....The book was just ok.

    "Should have included an epilog"

SPOILER - The story is about a young women sleeping with the guy of her dreams one night after he catches his girlfridnd in bed with someone, and he comes home drunk. The next day, he does not remember sleeping with her and then she ends up pregnant. This happens at the beginning of the story, so we go through the whole book with the heroine pregnant worrying about how to tell the father, get him to notice her and fall on love with her, and all the things that get in the way. Then something bad happens, they eventually end up together, the story ends; but it ends before she has the baby!! I guess we don't need to see the baby brought into the world safely. Rather ticked me off. I was invested and feel like the story was not finished.

Did not care for the narrator. Voice is slow and monotone.
