Like a good romance book. I also like any good writing whether it is fiction, classic, etc,
This is the second novel in the Capture In The Dark series. I found the second novel less offensive than the first book.
It could be less offensive because as the novel starts we find now find Livvy is safe away from her kidnappers and is reselling her.story to FBI agent Reed, who has his own problems when it comes to sex and home life when he was young. Livvy also was assigned a Social worker, Soloan, who she never make a connection with and never trusts.
The Real Housewife of Chicago
The excitement! It kept on the edge of my seat the whole time!
A dark and delicious guilty pleasure!
I loved this book so much! it was great!!!
the story has everything from sorrow to excitement to anger to bliss...the emotions in the story were just stomach clenching..
the emotions in the narrators voice made me feel like "kitten" but they way this book was written the intense feelings of both kitten and caleb...omg.....i felt like i was there
this book scared me, excited me and overall left me wanting more
are there any more books coming out on kitten and caleb? or sloane and matthew?
All business but contemporary fun!
I absolutely loved that the story started backwards and yet it did not spoil anything to you. It certainly added a extra layer of suspense by not knowing how Livvie got to the border. Caleb's disturbing past is unveiled which gives a lot of color on why he is who he is. His own martyrdom during his childhood makes his story credible and gives the reader a valid chance to forgive him. The story builds around his impending decision to whether betray his heart or the life as he knows it.
Terrific job in doing both hispanic and middle eastern accents.
i was so pleased with this book and it was a sequel. i loved the development of Livi and Caleb's relationship even though it started off as an abduction. i'm going to seriously read this novel again. i have to say it was better than the first novel.
the first time Livi and Caleb had their first "real" sexual encounter.
i could get a since of the emotions from the characters when she narrated. that helped bring the story to life.
Surprised that you love what you should hate.
I'm one of the reviewers at the Guilty Indulgence Review Site. I am always reading - I don't go anywhere without an ebook or audiobook!
Where to even begin? This is one of the most raw and brutally emotional series, likely falls into the dark erotic romance genre. I put it down a few times just for a breather. But then I couldn't stay away and as soon as I was done with the first book, I started this one. So taken with the story, I had to know what would happen next for Caleb and Olivia. Just as with the first book, I was seduced by this story. There's nothing predictable about this couple and that makes for a more intense read.
The climax of the story was really wonderful! I felt the book ended a bit abruptly, but I guess that's why there's an epilogue.
Finding out Caleb's past.
I don't want to give it away, but as I said before, I enjoyed the climax of the story very much.
Not hardly!! But I should have taken more days than I did. My kids got shooed away all too often.
I enjoyed book one more than this one, only because of the writing style. It was more intense to be in one world, Caleb and Kitten's world, than it was to go back and forth between that and Livvy telling the story to FBI agents. On the one hand, it was the same as the first book, without knowing why we would go from 1st person narrative (when we were listening to Livvy's POV) to 3rd person when we got more of Caleb's plight. I didn't care for the FBI agents' side story at all. It seemed unnecessary. These are the only two reasons I took away stars. I really enjoyed the series and the narrator.
