Publisher's summary

Nikolai: I have been a contract killer since I was a boy. For years I savored the fear caused by my name, the trembling at the sight of my tattoos. If you saw my eyes, it was the last vision you'd have. With her I am the mark, and I am ready to lie down and let her capture me. Opening my small, scarred heart to her brings out my enemies. I will carry out one last hit, but if they hurt her I will bring the world down around their ears.

Daisy: I've been sheltered from the outside world all my life. Home-schooled and farm-raised, I'm so naive that my best friend calls me Pollyanna. I like to believe the best about people. Nikolai is part of this new life, and he's terrifying to me. Not because his eyes are cold or my friend warns me away from him but because he's the only man who has ever seen the real me beneath the awkwardness. With him my heart is at risk...and also my life.

Contains mature themes.

It was ok

Language is crude. If you like Russian accidents this is the winner for you. Good originally in the storyline. Ok read

Great Anti-Hero Story

I thought this was a great "mafia" style story. The story itself is compelling and the voice acting is top notch. I especially loved the performance of the male voice actor. Pretty good!

Good book

I brought this book quite awhile ago after I got done with the Scarlet Scars by J.M. Darhower. The narrators were Iggy Toma and Kasha Kensington and I really enjoyed that series so much that I went and looked for another series they had done together. So, I picked it up on mere chance.

I'd give this book a 4, possibly a 3. 5. There were a lot of things I absolutely loved, and there were things I'm not particularly fond of. Like stalker love is not my thing, and the narrative in the beginning relied heavily on it. And then when Daisy was like stop watching me, then things turned sideways. Which is also something that was a little weird. I wasn't sure if it was the authors' intent to make stalking out to be a good thing, but it was a little creepy.

That said, Daisy does have a lot of control in the relationship and it makes the the balance of their relationship better. That's the major thing I loved about the book, is the level of comfort of the heroine is never pushed and she always has a say when and how far too go. Which kudos to the writers. That balanced worked for me. I do wish she would have pushed a little bit on asking for his background because of what happens not just to her but her best friend and roommate, Regan. Like really could of helped if Nikolai was more trusting to Daisy as Daisy trusted him. But alas, they found there happy ending. Well, not one person, but that's the next book.

The the overall story is pretty good, I did have difficulties getting through the beginning, but I'm glad I finished.

Excellent Read

Made me laugh out loud at times. Loved the subtle humor. Good character development and a great pairing.

Last Hit is a Hit!

Great easy listen, can't wait for the next installment to find out Regan's story. Funny, sexy, sad, serious all in one book.

Great 'Bad-boy' hero with a heart of gold.

Any additional comments?

This is just a really fun book about a Ukrainian hit man who stumbles on to a young girl who, has lived her life with her hermit father. She's recently left and is now discovering the world so she is incredibly native, and he is so NOT. But he is really a nice guy at heart.
Not only is there an excellent love story in there, but the sex scenes are so sweet and hot all at once. I'm only 3/4's done but I can say already this is one of the best erotic-romance novels I've listened to this year. Can't wait to get them all.....I've going take my time and slowly get a new one every few weeks this summer!

This is one of my favorite books and the audio version is fantastic. Both the male and female narrators do a great job!

Great story and narration

I’ve had this book on my bookshelf, ereader, and on my TBR for ages. When I saw it available in Audible’s romance package I decided to listen and I’m SO glad I did. Great narration and story kept me well entertained during long commutes!

Not a Spy Action Book!

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The love scenes was longer than the kill scenes! Not only did I have to listen to it once then it would switch over to tell it from the other characters point of view. This is not what I expected or wanted to listen to. If you like sappy love stories this is for you. If you want an action Hit man series this is not what you want to purchase.

What could Jessica Clare and Jen Frederick have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

More action less sex scenes

What three words best describe Iggy Toma and Kasha Kensington ’s voice?

Tolerable, Believable

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

No
