Eveline Armstrong is fiercely loved and protected by her powerful clan, but outsiders consider her "touched." Beautiful, fey, with a level, intent gaze, she doesn't speak. No one, not even her family, knows that she cannot hear. Content with her life of seclusion, Eveline has taught herself to read lips and allows the outside world to view her as daft. But when an arranged marriage into a rival clan makes Graeme Montgomery her husband, Eveline accepts her duty -unprepared for the delights to come. Graeme is a rugged warrior with a voice so deep and powerful that his new bride can hear it, and hands and kisses so tender and skilled that he stirs her deepest passions. Graeme is intrigued by the mysterious Eveline, whose silent lips are ripe with temptation and whose bright, intelligent eyes can see into his soul. As intimacy deepens, he learns her secret. But when clan rivalries and dark deeds threaten the wife he has only begun to cherish, the Scottish warrior will move heaven and earth to save the woman who has awakened his heart to the beautiful song of a rare and magical love.

    "Very Good!"

Loved listening to this one! The narrator did an excellent job and her vocal changes were very appropriate. Some parts of the story relating to the heroine's affliction seemed unrealistic to me and I hate when romance authors get too cheesy with certain situations. I realize it's a fantasy, but for me, the best romance novel is one that keeps it as real as possible (no matter where or when it takes place). However, this was definitely one of the better romantic novels I've listened to in some time. It hooked me and I had trouble turning it off to do other things.

    "Awesome Book, Excellent Narrator!"

This was my first book from Maya Banks, and she is a very talented author. I'm totally hooked. The reviews are correct - this book rocks! Ms. Banks does a great job developing very interesting characters. The heroine, Eveline, is a deaf, strong, intelligent woman who I just loved, and Graeme, the hero, is a wonderful, rugged, almost perfect man. The comination of the characters made for a wondeful romance. The narrator, Kirsten Potter, is aboslutely superb - she is one of the best female narrators I've listed to. I can't wait to listen to the next book in the series!

What made the experience of listening to Never Seduce a Scot the most enjoyable?

Given an impossible situation and past, they overcame their family's hatred and her tragedy to forgive and fall in love.

    Which scene was your favorite?

My favorite scene was when they declare their love for each other.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

    Triumph over tragedy and animosity

    Any additional comments?

The story is not cheesy like the book cover and title.

    "Beautiful, well written & touching."

I love, love, loved this book. I cannot come up with a single thing about this book that I disliked.

It starts off somewhat touchily as we're dealing with a female character that is believed to be crazy. That's not a normal starting point for a romance novel.

I did a lot of sad & sappy crying during this book. The fact that it sucked me in so thoroughly and brought out such strong emotions, to me, makes it even better. If you're not into the emotional read then maybe this isn't the best option for you. As emotional as it was though, it wasn't a heavy read at all.

    "This story is soo touching."

I actually read this book when it came out and decided to buy the audible version because I enjoyed Grame and Eveline's story. Maya Banks has not let me down and I so looking forward to Bowen's story.
    Happy Listening!

There's a reason why this book was voted best romance suspense in 2012 and it does not disappoint. I was pleasantly surprised not knowing or ever heard of this author. I've now read about 4 of her books and enjoyed them all.
