Publisher's summary

An A-List movie star....

Ryan Christensen just wanted to be an actor. Never in his wildest dreams did he imagine a life where fans would chase him, paparazzi would stalk him, and Hollywood studios would want to own him. While filming in Seaport, Rhode Island, Ryan ducks into a neighborhood bar for a quick escape from legions of screaming fans... and finds much more than he expected.

A small-town girl....

Nursing a recent heartbreak, Taryn Mitchell believes men are best kept at a safe distance. But when Ryan Christensen unexpectedly bursts through the front door of her pub, she can’t help but be drawn in by his humor, charm, and undeniable good looks. At six foot two, with dirty blond hair, blue eyes, and an incredible body, Ryan has every girl in Seaport swooning. But Taryn isn’t every other girl.

A relationship that doesn’t follow the script....

Despite her better judgment, Taryn soon finds herself falling hard for Ryan. But is their bond strong enough to survive the tabloid headlines, the relentless paparazzi, and the jealous fans who seem determined to tear them apart?

Believe in love!

I loved the story even though predictable. I did not like the narrator 's version of the male voices.

Starts great then got annoying

The h is an average 20something, and H is a star. I loved how normal h was in the beginning, mocking the crazy fan girls. Gradually, she became hysterical and irrational, just like the girls she mocked in the beginning. If I were the H, I'm not sure I would have stuck with her. If the last 1/3 of the book went away, I know I would have been a happier reader.

Absolutely a fun read

Where does Love Unscripted rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This title is one that I will listen to again. Enjoyed the read. Being a baby boomer and a big Beatle fan this story was a fantasy of mine in my younger years.

Narrator held my attention through this one

Madeleine Maby who is also Grace Grant is the reason I could hang with this story. She is an excellent narrator. I don't know why some narrators have two names, but you can't miss who Grace Grant is.
The story was way too full of nothing interesting between a pretty good story.
Tina Reber could take a tip from Kristen Hannah's long books which are full of a lot of story lines and keep your interest for 20 hours.
This could have been told in 12 hours and leave out all the useless detail of long dialogs about nothing.
This was also so exaggerated about how fans staulk celebrities. Way over the top on all that.
The story wasn't half bad and the last 1/3 of the book was pretty good. Don't think I could get through the 2nd book in this series though.

Couldn't stop listening

I didn't love this book, but I couldn't stop listening as I had to see how it finished so I definitely enjoyed it.

Are girls really this clueless!

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

No....I hope people don't think this is okay-to treat this woman like this. Sure Taryn jumps to conclusions a lot, but mostly she puts up with a lot of crap and gets very little sympathy for it. She should of told Ryan to f-off along time ago. He hides their relationship from the world and lets his publicist, agent, and the public at large think she's nothing and allows the world to believe he's hooking up with someone else. He makes her wait across the street and watch him schmooze with his co-star who is in love with him. He expects her to be okay with watching him kiss his ex-girlfriend co-star day after day. But when he has his jealous fits over nothing (as far as he knows) he tries to control her and the situation to make him feel better . He was such a manipulative, narcissistic jerk and by the end of the book I was sooooo hoping she would dump him and make him gravel a little.

What could Tina Reber have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Not made Taryn such a doormat.

Which character – as performed by Madeleine Maby – was your favorite?

None, but it wasn't the narrator's fault. I even hated Taryn's best friend, Marie--a lot!....if she was my best friend and she slapped me knowing what I'd been through that night I would have punched her in the face and fired her from my bar.

Was Love Unscripted worth the listening time?

Not really.....it was sooooooo long. I feel the editor could have cut the book down by 1/3 and still told the same sexist story.

looooooooooong, redundant, predictable, flat

i don't like giving negative reviews, but... seriously, this was a 22hr audiobook & the "action/drama/plot" didn't kick in till around hour 18. i'd say about half of the story coulda been cut out & readers still would have gotten the complete picture. in fact, you could probably start reading at the last 1/4 of the book & be completely fine.
words i'd use to describe this book: long, redundant, predictable, flat. i wanted to slap Taryn more times than i could count. my eyes couldn't roll back far enough in my head at some points. i'm honestly surprised i finished it. i'm gonna pass on the 2nd book.

The narration performance & audio quality were perfect.
