Publisher's summary

Kate is a 35-year-old woman who is obsessed with social media. So when her fiancé, Max, breaks things off at their rehearsal dinner, she goes straight to Facebook to share it with the world. But something's changed. Suddenly Kate's real life starts to mirror whatever she writes in her Facebook status. With all the power at her fingertips, Kate goes back in time to rewrite their history. Kate's two best friends, Jules and Liam, are the only ones who know the truth. In order to convince them she's really time traveled, Kate offers to use her Facebook status to help improve their lives. But her attempts to help them don't go exactly as planned, and every effort to get Max back seems to only backfire, causing Kate to wonder if it's really possible to change her fate.

Good Concept and Distraction

Although predictable, it was a great commuting book. Good concept and fun idea. Liked the narrator

Utterly engrossing and captivating premise

Would you listen to The Status of All Things again? Why?

No, but that is only because I prefer to only listen to books once. I would like to read the actual book, though.

Any additional comments?

Solid 4.5. (why don't we have 1/2 stars yet?!)

I really thoroughly enjoyed this read. Just utterly engrossing. All the characters were extremely interesting, quirky, and relatable.

The premise of this book is one I think that, especially in today's social media society, we can all take a extra large dose of the message that is in this book.

Although someone's life may look perfect from social media, more times than not, you are only seeing the edited, filtered and photoshopped cover photo of their life. Take the time to water your own grass and just don't worry about your neighbors.

Fate and God have a way of working everything about the way it is destined to go.

great from start to finish

Any additional comments?

Man oh man...I loved this book...from cover to cover. I think that Fenton and Steinke are quite the team. They have a way to write a perfectly blended stories that are engaging, original and so much fun to read. But it is more than that. The Status of All things also is a book that makes you think, reflect and make changes in your own life. It is pure genius and I highly recommend it to all! 5 stars

Do you believe in magic?

Great read. Makes you ask yourself the question about if you would want a do-over

Extremely Predictable

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Not really well spent. I knew what was going to happen before it happened. Too preticable.

If you’ve listened to books by Liz Fenton and Lisa Steinke before, how does this one compare?

I've not and I don't think I would.

What didn’t you like about Amy McFadden’s performance?

The narrator was really bad. Her accent was odd. Very annoying. Her male voices were absolutely awful.

Did The Status of All Things inspire you to do anything?

Not read anything else by this narrator

Any additional comments?

I think this should have been in the teen genre. Very immature and predictable. I COULD NOT get passed the narrator. I don't think I even finished. I just skipped around toward the end and got the jist of it. $24 was way too expensive for this!

Light read

This was a quick, light read. Somewhat predictable but I still enjoyed it. I found myself frustrated toward the end with the main character but maybe that's what the author was going for. I enjoyed the ending.

Mixed reactions

The story line was cute, but I really disliked the lead character. At one point her fiancée called her independent, but I found her to be very coddled and quite co- dependent. The narrator's "valley girl" voice for the lead character made me dislike her even more. However, I did listen all the way to the end... so I must admit that the story line made me think, which is one of the things I like most about reading/listening.

A well written, cute story

As my first Fenton/Steinke book, I was extremely impressed with the quality of writing in this novel. It was well structured, great ebb and flow of conflict, and lots of great thought-provoking prose.

"Wouldn't it be nice if we could get rid of hurtful feelings and memories the same way we so easily send a bad picture sailing into our computer's trash can?"

Kate endures one of the most devastating experiences ever - her fiance calls off the wedding at their destination-wedding rehearsal dinner. She has to face the reality that she can't crop or filter out that truth from her facebook status. Until her FB status/wish comes true. Then she has to decide what she really wants to get out of her do-over.

This book was so good, I'm mad at myself for only reading it now and not years ago when it was published. Now to catch up on the rest of these authors' books!

loved this story

This was a great story. I loved every bit of it and I did not expect the ending to go the way that it did. it was a very Timely scenario about using Facebook statuses that somehow could come true.
