An A-List movie star....

Ryan Christensen just wanted to be an actor. Never in his wildest dreams did he imagine a life where fans would chase him, paparazzi would stalk him, and Hollywood studios would want to own him. While filming in Seaport, Rhode Island, Ryan ducks into a neighborhood bar for a quick escape from legions of screaming fans... and finds much more than he expected.

A small-town girl....

Nursing a recent heartbreak, Taryn Mitchell believes men are best kept at a safe distance. But when Ryan Christensen unexpectedly bursts through the front door of her pub, she can’t help but be drawn in by his humor, charm, and undeniable good looks. At six foot two, with dirty blond hair, blue eyes, and an incredible body, Ryan has every girl in Seaport swooning. But Taryn isn’t every other girl.

A relationship that doesn’t follow the script....

Despite her better judgment, Taryn soon finds herself falling hard for Ryan. But is their bond strong enough to survive the tabloid headlines, the relentless paparazzi, and the jealous fans who seem determined to tear them apart?

A WELL WRITTEN AND NARRATED LOVE STORY

It's a daunting thought when you are about to dedicate 22.5 hrs of your life to a book BUT this one is SO worth it.

Ryan and Taryn's building blossoming romance is so touching and it's also funny, sweet and crazy. It's filled with secondary characters that you will also come to love as the couple journey on the love train. There's not much hot and heavy but if you're a Happily Ever After kind of person then you should like this.

Worth a credit? If you like a chic lit romance then ABSOLUTELY - but beware - once you start it then it becomes a non-stop ride and I've just bought my tickets onboard book 2.

It's just sooo long...

Taryn, a small town bar owner is swept off her feet by the major movie star, Ryan Christensen.... Oh, this story had so much potential!

But... This was one of the most painful books I have ever read. It just drags on and on and on...
The majority of the book is spent talking about how poor Ryan is hounded by the paparazzi and how Taryn wishes she could protect him from his Hollywood lifestyle. If you are looking for hot and steaming scenes the book lacks this as well.
Once Taryn & Ryan are officially a couple the next part of the book is spent reassuring one another that they are indeed in love. Honestly, they said "I love you" so many times it almost became unbelievable.

I found the dialogue quite awkward and forced at times and the constant use of the endearments 'Honey' and 'Dear' made the characters seem really dated to me.

I'm glad I finished this book as it reaffirmed that I definitely do not want to read the sequel. But it does leave me asking the question, if there was always going to be a second book, why would you make the first one so long??

OMG! So unexpected! So GOOOOOOD!!!!

WOW! I was blown away! I did not expect this. I love Maby narration, so I got this for a road trip. Boy, what great way to spend a credit. Totally worth it. Loved this story. Let me say this right now, THIS IS A LOVE STORY! The basic love story rules apply... i.e. girl meets guy, they get together, break up, get back together.

Now with that said... the basic rules has nothing on this book. WOW... such a good story and sooo freakin real. Ryan is a movie star and Tarren is a regular bar owner that has never seen Ryan's movies. It starts there. U have to get this book. It is very very long, but very very good. Each character is sooooo well developed, you feel like you know them personally. I loved it. Even the side characters are well developed with thier own personalities. Great Great!

Ryan and Tarren have issues ( I will not give it away) that try to tear them apart and it so freakin good, I almost wreaked my car listening to this book! I got soo into this book... I felt each characters pain... and let me tell you... they both had pain... SOOOO goood...

Like I said, Maby is such a great narrator, u just get sucked in. Men sound like men and every female is comeplely different...u can totally tell them apart. Maby is right up there with the Sands sisters. I mean no one is good as Xe Sands but Maby is a very close second...and that is saying alot!!!

This is a great buy/credit... Matter of fact... this is a must buy/credit!!!

Not your typical book

There are a few things I want to clarify before beginning my review, since the choice of to be or not to buy usually comes down to these categories for 90% of the population.

1. This book is 22.5 hours long...so if you aren't into LONG books move on!
2. The sexual tension and chemistry were there...but if you are looking for an erotic detailed read move on!
3. It is not a YA book (I was relieved when I finally figured that one out!)
4. The narrator is very good, even fake yawning a word when the script said to
5. Even though this was a story about a mega movie star and a simple girl, I have to say the contrived drama was kept fairly minimal.

Okay, onto the review.

Small town bar owner Taryn gets the shock of her life one day when she opens up her pub door and sees a slew of girls chasing a guy...she instantly gets him inside and realizes it's Ryan Christianson the mega movie star filming locally. She feels the need to protect him and helps him calm down and so the story of the Taryn Ryan relationship begins.

Some parts dragged but for the most part I liked the book. I liked that it wasn't insta-love and we are soul mates and poof it's us against the world. This girl had doubts, this boy has issues, they had to work to get together, but no one was abused as a child or was horribly broken or a virgin, thank goodness. I did get a bit bored with how much the girl doubted everything, but new relationships are hard and I imagine dealing with the mega movie star who can get any girl he wants scenario could make one doubt herself.

There were real life scenarios and nothing too over the top dramatic until the end that is...but you kind of figured something like that was bound to happen. And I am thrilled to report that although this is book 1 of 3 the third book isn't about Taryn and Ryan and book one did not have a cliff hanger ending. I have already downloaded book 2.

I would say it's well worth the read/listen!

Unscripted needs a script

I am looking for a new author I can enjoy. Reviews on this book were good. I have very little vision left and I haven't figured out how to find out if a book is YA or Erotica...I don't want to purchase either. I like a 3 download indept book..interesting characters, dialog, etc. This story has a great setting. I really like the main characters and the accompanying cast of characters. But the dialog was hit and miss...and slow. I thought it might for young adults but no...maybe 20 somethings. I find the dialog juvenile. Teryn is getting upset about a woman he had sex with one time over a year ago...when she didn't even know him and she was engaged to another man at that time. I realize she is gun shy but really who acts like that? And that is just one example. So much was good but the timing, pacing of this romance is just not for me. I am grinding my teeth.

One of the worst I have ever read

Would you try another book from Tina Reber and/or Madeleine Maby?

No.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

The narrator was fine, a little stilted at times.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

I hated both of the main characters. I found myself grinding my teeth I got so irritated listening to this book. If I had to hear one more rant about psycho fans or paparazzi I was going to lose my mind. The male lead is a celebrity with 20 million in the bank at 27yrs old- give me a break, no one feels bad for him. These characters are totally unsympathetic, unrelatable and annoying. also the author should have spent more time jn research so many inconsistencies. there aren't enough good sex scenes to even make this close to credit worthy.

Any additional comments?

Don't waste a minute on this one.

a sweet love story

i know there are a lot of "bad" reviews for this book and everyone's entitled to their own opinion, but honestly? i think they're being harsh. tina reber doesn't claim to be a first-class writer and neither did E.L. James from fifty shades. they were just writing a story that they wanted to tell and i for one loved both stories. maybe that makes me a silly heart, but who cares. sometimes escaping the world around us is the best story of all.

there's sweet romance in this book and it's easy to listen to. the narrator did a great job of pulling me in, since i had already "read" these books before they ever came out on audio (but i'm glad they did!).

if you liked the old movie, Knotting Hill, with julia roberts and hugh grant, you'll love this book. it reminded me a lot of that but had more back story. two thumbs up.

Great Story!

Where does Love Unscripted rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I think this book along with the second book to this one rank in the top 5 books i love. It is so refreshing to read a well written well thought out book.

I think ryan is my favorite. A well rounded man is what every girl is looking for. He is kind sexy thoughtful but not a cheesy way. He is real.

Which character – as performed by Madeleine Maby – was your favorite?

Taryn was my favorite.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When ryan and taryn met, It just feels real, You feel that flirty feeling you have when you first meet someone.

Any additional comments?

This book gave me true feelings. The characters were well thought out and developed.

Enjoyed

I was interested going into this book based on the mixed reviews. I found myself loving the book and waiting for the next thing to happen. There were times Taryn drove me nuts with her constant winning over the photographers and fallback from being a superstar but at the same time I could understand why she was overwhelmed. I loved Ryan's venerability in this book and how he put his heart on the line for Taryn.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and would recommend this to other readers.

My new favorite book

I think I love this more than Christian and Anna. Witty characters and sense of humor. Loved the characters and all their relationships together. Erotic without being explicit.
