Publisher's summary

New York Times best-selling author Karen Kingsbury - the "queen of inspirational fiction" ( Time) - is acclaimed for poignant, uplifting novels like Waiting for Morning. This compelling novel paints a moving portrait of a heartbroken widower and a jilted bride, thrust together by their Down syndrome siblings.

When rodeo champion Cody Gunner returns to Colorado Springs, he has no intention of keeping his deathbed promise to his beloved wife - to love again. But when his concern for his brother, Carl, takes him to the Independent Learning Center, he sees how much Carl and his fellow Down syndrome students are progressing. He also notices their teacher, Elle Downs, who glows with such infectious joy and inner beauty that he almost forgets their philosophical differences.

A heart opening 'life skills' story

Wonderful story with many life skills for all of us. Some important ones for me to remember about letting go of hurt & letting God direct a great life ahead by trusting Him.
Wish we knew how Disney Land went, the wedding, CJ's gold day & the new center with a dance floor 😊

Loved this book

I loved this heart felt story. Book 2 was so much better than book 1. I can’t wait to start book 3.

Love the narrator

I was really disappointed with this book. It should have been promoted as a “Christian” love story. Although it has a very unChristlike attitude toward homosexuality. Jesus only ever condemned the religious folks and they were the ones who had him put to death. Being gay is not a “lifestyle “, it’s how someone is born. Just like CJ was born with Down syndrome. I won’t be reading this author anymore.
