In the Service of the King

Kael, Warrior King of the Vampires, loathes the Night of the Proffering. He needs the blood of either his mate or a human virgin to maintain his strength, but hasn’t enjoyed the ritual since he lost his mate centuries ago. Kael doesn’t want a new companion, yet his resolve is tested when he lays eyes on his new offering, Shayla McKinnon. He is drawn to Shayla’s beauty and poise...and the submission she offers. "Extremely short!!!"

This is closer to a novella than a full novel. It was extremely short and I feel a little cheated that I paid so much for it. However, it was a steamy little story that could be really developed into a great series.

    "Love those Vampire Bites"

I read Seduced by the Vampire King before I read In the Service of the King because it was the first one available on audible. I was confused upon reading the book because I fought it started in the middle of this fascinating world. So I decided to Google the author and immediately realized that I was one book ahead of the series. When I read “In the Service of the King”, everything in book two come together and finally made sense. This book is a short read but packs a lot into those three hours. A little romance, some intrigue and world building makes this book worth a listen. This book really does sit the stage for the next book in the series. I was happy to see it finally become available on audible. And I love Brock's voice, why oh why, couldn't he have done the other two.
