I never meant to be here: tied up in bed next to a serial killer. When I followed him home, I was just playing Nancy Drew. Trying to find out his secret. His kiss was intoxicating, and I thought he was harmless. I was wrong. Nancy Drew never ended up in a basement, handcuffed to a radiator, teased to the edge of insanity, begging to be let go. Soon I stopped begging to be let go. Soon I started begging to be his.

HIS is the unlikely love story of a serial killer and a librarian. In HIS, Ms. Dark takes us off the path leading to the typical abduction turns romance story by changing things up just a tad. In addition to creating a unique story, I was very impressed with the way Ms. Dark brought the uncommon characters to life. Without excessive or large amounts of content or terminology overtly describing either of the main characters, Dark's characters were so well-developed that I could picture them in my mind, I felt connected to them and I wanted them to succeed.
Despite all of the positive factors about this book, unfortunately there were several negative aspects to it as well. For me, what detracted from this book most were the unrealistic and unlikely things the characters did and/or said. I understand that this is fiction yet far-fetched events and actions detract from the believability of the story. Overall, I was entertained and did enjoy this book. I'm actually jumping straight into MINE (the next book in this series) right now!
I listened to this Audible audiobook and have nothing but positive things to say about narrator Carly Robins. She was absolutely superb and I will be seeking out more books narrated by her in the future!
Okay, so if I'm going to listen to or read an erotic novel, it's because I enjoy the fantasy. I was okay with Kat's ass being a bit wide. But when the killer said she wouldn't fit into his pants I was done. While I accept a fat ass and thick thighs in every other area of life, these are not traits that lend themselves to sexual imagery. No thank you.
I am an avid reader, not a professional book reviewer. I gladly offer my opinion of the books I read/listen to.
If it's like this one---and I was totally unimpressed with the narration.
No. I give her credit for reaching out there to add a new spin on a romance.
It was annoying. Her male voice was gravelly and not very male sounding.
This is so dark. The suffering, they psyche, what they consider love ... it is all dark. This is not worth a credit or a sale. I thought about returning it before I got through the book.
