Hannah Howell Read Beautifully!

I have always wanted to be able to listen to Ms. Howell's books, but I feared that the accents wouldn't be handled well. I was completely satisfied by Ms.Dawe's narration. I have always loved Ms. Howell's books. Ms. Dawe made them sound just the way I thought they would in my head. Highlanders in love! Swords! Wonderful!

VT. FAN

If you could sum up Highland Vow in three words, what would they be?

ABOUT TIME AUDIBLE

Who was your favorite character and why?

ELSBETH. STRONG FEMALE LEAD. KNOW WHAT SHE WANTS AND GOES FOR IT.

Have you listened to any of Angela Dawe’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

DAWE IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES. ABSOLUTELY NOONE BETTER TO DO A HIGHLAND ROMANCE NOVEL. I HOPE THE REST OF HANNAH HOWELLS BOOKS WILL BE IN AUDIO FORM AND THAT DAWE CONTINUES TO NARRATE THEM.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

ANGELA DAWE MADE THIS BOOK COME TO LIFE FOR ME. THE CHARACTERS WERE SO VERY VERY WELL DONE. YOU LAUGH AND CRY AND MISS THEM TERRIBLY WHEN DONE. THATS A GOOD AUTHOR AND NARRATOR.

Any additional comments?

ALL OF HANNAH HOWELLS BOOKS SHOULD BE MADE INTO AUDIO AND ANGELA DAWE SHOULD DO THEM.

Highland Vow

My favorite of the first three, loved it. Enjoyed the added story of the cat. They were so in love and have such a strong family tie. Story moved well and had some good surprise in it.

Soul Mates

Contact & Elspeth
Can you know at such a young age that you have met your soul mate? Elspeth Murray met Cormac when she was 13 and has known he was the one for many years! I love her big heart and I hate that Cormac is an idiot! I love how he redeems himself in the end. I love the Murrays and love seeing the next generation!

Strong Characters Strong Story

I loved it from beginning to end. The heroine should have used a bigger stick on the hero, but she got him straightened out in the end. Along with a good story and strong characters there was some enjoyable humor. My only negative is the use of the term wee enough that it became a little annoying to me. This was my first book by this author and I look forward to others.

Entertaining Highland Romance

Would you listen to Highland Vow again? Why?

Probably not. Although I think the author is a talented story teller I find the heroine frustrating.

Which character – as performed by Angela Dawe – was your favorite?

Cormac

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I could not help but be frustrated by the Elspeth! She is so upset that Cormac will not break his vow to Isabelle after she has given him her virginity and her love even though he told her from the very beginning he could not give her a future because he was promised to another. It's her own fault. I know it's just a story but I feel her behavior is a terrible example to women. Giving yourself to a man in an attempt to make them love you is just a terrible idea!

One of my favorites!

This was the first book of Hannah Howell that I listened to and I intend to listen to all the others. Even though technically this is Book 4 of the Murray Family Series, it is the first book about the Daughters so I didn't feel like I missed anything. I particularly love how this author's female characters are strong and capable.

Stupid stupid man

This was a very good read but I couldn't help my constant urge to scream over the stupidity of this man. Elspith should have let him crawl all the way to the door.

Highland Vow

In this book in the series is about Elspeth and Cormac. They had met ten years before when she found and healed a seventeen year old lad. She was not but nine at the time. Now she had been kidnapped and was told she was to wed another. Cormac happened to be there and was able to help her escape. But theirs was not a smooth courtship. He had pledged himself to another ten years before. And held that vow. Even though the woman had been married and widowed several times. She, Elspeth, was not deterred. She was determined to get her man. Will Cormac uphold his vow or will the feelings he has growing for Elspeth finally break the hold the other woman has had? The narration was enough that I was enjoyed listening to the very end.
