Publisher's summary

Bound by duty….

Colin MacGregor was born to fight - for his beliefs, his king, and his family’s honor. After years away from his beloved Scotland, he yearns to return to its lush, green hills, and he can... after he completes one final mission for the king. Sent to infiltrate a traitor’s home, Colin is determined to expose the treasonous plot and triumph on the battlefield - until he meets a sensual lass who tempts him toward other pursuits.

Betrayed by passion….

Lady Gillian Dearly is no stranger to temptation. Cast out of her family for bearing an illegitimate child, she’s now the ward of a barbarian conspiring against the king. Her only desire: freedom for her son and for herself at any cost, even if it means making a deal with the devil. Yet when a mysterious Highlander appears in their midst, his raw strength and smoldering gaze give her hope for a future beyond the castle walls - and promise a desire unlike any she’s ever known. Passion, however, comes at a price.

Paula Quinn is married to her childhood sweetheart. They have three wonderful children, a dog, and too many reptiles to count. She lives in New York City and is currently at work on her next novel. You can write to her at Paula@PaulaQuinn.com.

Paula Quinn, what a fantastic series!!!

Colin McGregor of Skye was a spy for the King. He
meets Lady Gillian Dearley and her son. Gillian
was treated unkind by her cousin, her son
wasn't wanted there. The Brawny Highlander
was very kind to her son and Gillian.
Get ready for betrayal, wars, Kings, guards
who mistreat Gillian and her son. Colin
tries to guard his heart but his family
roots are deep. Get ready for a Lady
who wins this Highlanders heart!
We all need a Colin MacGregor!!
Thank you, Paula for your fantastic
stories!

HAS ANYBODY GOT A TIME MACHINE I CAN BORROW???

Give me a hunky handsome Highland Warrior from the 17th Century, clad him in a kilt (or even troos), give him a Quest, add some other great characters, throw in a love interest and I'm oh soooo happy for 10 hours.

This was the last in a great series (boo hooo) so suggestions Ms. Quinn - how about Children of the Forest, Glen, Mountains, Loch, Sea, Sky..... well anyway you get it PLEASE can we have some more.

This could be a stand alone listen (as could all in the series) but why deprive yourself, if you haven't already listened to book 1, start there sit back and enjoy.

Worth a credit? This series has been a 4 credit investment and I don't regret any - so that would be a YES.

Slow but Delightful

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

The progression of this book was slow in the beginning, but by the second part of the book it picked up some steam and was enjoyable. I liked the book and would listen to this again.

Liked the characters, even the "bad guy" in the book.

Looking forward to any future books by this author.

What three words best describe Carrington MacDuffie’s performance?

The narrator was good, would listen to another book she narrates.

Authentic Feel to Highlander Romance

I love Highlanders. And Quinn does them justice. These men are strong but loving, protectors and lovers... so damn sexy. The historical references make the story feel more authentic, something I need when listening to any historical romance - you know, setting the scene makes it more believable.

The narration was okay but I didn't particularly love MacDuffie's male voices. Still, it was good enough and I'll still be listening to the next book in the series.
