College senior Kate Camden has learned to adapt - to her last year of school, to the promise of motherhood, to the fact that she's doing it all alone. But just when she's learned to adjust, heartache threatens to break her apart.
Pro hockey player Jason "Ryke" Ryker has it all: adoring fans, a promising career, and a beautiful wife. But when his seemingly perfect life is shaken by tragedy, he's left questioning whether having it all is ever more than an illusion.
When circumstance brings Kate and Ryke together, they discover they don't have to hurt alone. Bound by a grief that haunts them both, they must rely on one another to survive heartbreak. But that grief is more powerful than they realize, and the tie that binds them together may ultimately tear them apart.

What an amazing love story about Kate and Ryke. Two broken hearts finding healing in each other. The pain and suffer they went thru. Your heart will truly break when you listen to this story. Both suffering great loss.I do recommend a box of tissue when listening to this audio. It is a book I would highly recommend.
coffee addicted, book reading, movie watching, music listening, wannabe mermaid.
totally freaking amazing!
what didn't i like? everything about this book is absolutely flawless. Kate is just about the sweetest heroine in a book i've ever read, and Ryke? sweet baby jesus in the manger, how much hotter can a guy get? hocky player, intelligent, sweet, funny and built like a brick house. wowza! the circumstances that brought them together are heartbreaking but through their pain they found love, light and life again. so sweet!
i honestly can't pick one favorite scene, i literally love everything about this book.
i read the ebook version the first time around, but hearing the audio companion only intensified my reactions. i cried harder, laughed louder, smiled bigger and blushed brighter.
i think Brenda did an absolutely remarkable job picking the voices for these two characters. they were Kate and Ryke personified, they fit the bill to the letter.
Bound was my first audiobook experience.
I absolutely loved the book in print and listening to the narrators bring emotion to the authors words brought on a whole new experience this time around.
Bound contains many memorable moments, but the one that comes to mind immediately is the locker room scene.
Kate is trying so hard to fight her feelings and her attraction to Ryke. The locker room scene proves that you can only deny your attraction to a sexy hockey player that's oozing with sex appeal for so long!
Brenda Rothert has a very easy, mellow flow to her writing and this audio version brought a new feel to the words that I loved so much in print.
This storyline will pull you in immediately. You know you have found a great writer when you are crying within the first 20 minutes.
I highly recommend this audiobook to readers seeking romance, drama, overcoming tragedy and finding love through it all!
Enjoy! (Grab the tissues)
Bound was the first audio book I have ever done and I loved it !!! The characters were amazing I felt like they were a part of my life and was bumbed when the book came to an end!!!
The characters omg hot hockey player well built body and tats mmmm Mmm Mmm !!! Kate I could relate to her and she seemed real had a crapy car lots of bills little money and just trying to get thru the day.
That would spoil the book!!! I have to many parts to list here and I won't don't want to spoil this read for anyone else but damn picture texts rank up there as my favorite
I met Brenda when she was in Florida when we met I hadn't ever read any of her books but after meeting her sitting in on her panel and chatting with her I found a new author I will be reading for a long time !!!
The first audiobook i recieved.
I loved how Brenda brought 2 people who both had went through difficult times together. Not only did they find peace within theirselves but they also learned that its ok to trust and love again.
Chris and Kirsten brought out all the emotions that is hard to get from reading the book.
I love the whole Fire on Ice series!!! I've read them all twice and fall in love with the books more and more!!! Keep up the amazing work Brenda!!!
I would say that I love the audio edition of BOUND just as much as the print version. I loved the book when I read it, and I think that hearing it read aloud just adds even more to the experience.
I can't really compare BOUND to any other story, in that it is so unique and wonderful. But, if you're looking for some similar type books, I'd suggest any of the other books in the FIRE AND ICE books by Brenda Rothert, or maybe the OFF series by Sawyer Bennett.
No, I hadn't heard either Chris Ruen's or Kirsten Leigh's performances before, but I thought that they both did an excellent job with BOUND.
Really, all of the interactions between Kate (Kirsten) and Ryke (Chris) were fabulous. I found the part of the story where Ryke tells Kate about what the tattoo on his back means very moving.
I loved this story, and would recommend it completely.
This is one of the best Audibles I've heard. The voice were impecible. The male voice was great. But the female voice....just...wow.
You know how with some audio books, each narrator reads completely different so you find yourself thinking, "That's not what how the other character would say that."
This was NOT one of those audio books. The narrators didn't just do a great job in general. When they had to "perform" each other's lines, the infections were dead on...as if each narrator really did know the other person.
It was wonderful.
Wow I have never heard an audible book before and this was just
Amazing, I have read all of Brenda Rothert's books and loved them all, and just listening to a book I have previously read was such a unique experience, so different .. and such a nice change .. I love Kate and Rykes story it's one of my favorites and all I can say is just having listened to the story made me enjoy it even more!! This was my first audible book and for sure won't be my last :) Thank you Brenda for allowing me the chance to experience this, I am truly greatful! !! I highly recommend this book to everyone!
Bound was just as great, if not a bit better than the print version! Enjoyed every second!
There is no book that I've read lately that an compare to Bound. None!
AWESOME! AMAZING! They brought the book to life!
Out darkness comes life....and love....
Brenda Rothert's can do no wrong! All of her books are great! Looking forward to her next audiobook, "Captive"!
Love that this book was captivating, emotional, heartbreaking and simply beautiful. This book was beautifully well written that you get emotionally invested with these characters. My heart ached for them whenever memories and flashbacks would remind them of the past and the what if’s of the future. Bound was more than a romance book, it was a story of coping, moving on and second chances. Second chances not only in love but at LIFE. Ryke and Kate’s story was about survival and two individuals who were able to claw out of the darkness and find the light and peace they both deserved.
For me, it would happen to be both the hero and the heroine of the books. I think that Ryke and Kate's characters goes hand in hand. They are emotionally and physically invested in each other. They say love heals and their love truly showcases that beautifully.
I think they allow the readers (listeners) to FEEL all the emotions. The emotions comes alive as they evoke the words of the author.
Bound by loss, bound by grief, and bound by love.
Bound by Brenda Rothert can be summed up with these words: Loss, Grief, Sadness, Heartache, Depression, Coping, Moving On, Second Chances, Romance, Laughter, Friendship, Happiness, Closure, and Life. Bound is a story that united two individuals who were bound together with the same pain: LOSS of a loved one. When is it okay to finally move on? Is it right to move on? Why is our sadness and loss sometimes associated with guilt? Do second chances really exists? This is a story that reminds us that there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there are healthy ways to cope with the pain that, in time, can renew you and permit you to move on.
